Best way to farm souls...

i looked up "best way to farm souls in dark souls" on youtube, and all that popped up was darkroot garden farming.

How can that be, when its not the best way to farm?

On the Wiki the painted world is also mentioned, I consider it the far better spot to farm souls. A bit of WotG, and you can farm way faster than the guy in that video.

I took my Lifehunt to Painted World and just did the run from the bonfire to the first set of Harpies over the Dried Finger ledge. On NG+ with a Lifehunt +5 the harpies die in two hits. Plus you can draw the two kitty corner across the courtyard with a well placed arrow to get four harpies. I did this for only about 20 minutes with the gold serpent ring to get eight souvenirs (I got ten) and still went up several levels. If I had switched to silver ring......man oh man

Yes, but WotG requires that you have a faith build, most builds doesn't include a 28 faith just to use this method, pyromancy is neutral.

Well actually most people use Dex/Faith hybrids, but yeah for my non-faith builds I typically go with Great Fire, and Chaos Fire.

I will pint out (I have never seen this suggested before, maybe they took it out in 1.05) that you can buy prism stones from the undead merhcant female for 10 souls each and sell them to frampt for 100 souls each. Its a very safe, fairly quick way to get lots of souls.

Also, this video shows the method without mimic head and the covetous ring, so the exp gained is approximately doubled if you were both.
