Actually I didn't know that :| And I have a good 300-400 hours played. I always figured falling down that would kill you... Always learning something new I guess

Yeah I haven't heard of this either, so you fall down the hole, but you end up at the lordvessel, not the abyss

I learned that by watching some of the speed runs. So, if I don't need frampt, I just jump down and skip the cutscene.

You still have to kill the four kings to get their soul, as well this will be counted as a betrayal of Kaathe so he won't be in the abyss. Meaning you can't become a Dark Wraith.

I found this out by accident on my 2nd play through the game, I had about 6 skeletons chasing me and I was Darkwood rolling around like a chicken and I got kicked down by one of the skeletons into that hole.
Man was I happy to see that cut scene with the magical bubble of softness. Now I use it all the time, its faster than talking to frampt or warping to kaathe and as long as you already placed the vessel with one of them it doesn't count as betrayal.

i did this on my first playthrough. Frampt was sleeping and I didnt want to hit him cause i wanted the link with the fire ending so i just jumped down. Then frampt got angry and I got sad.

You can also kill gwynevere with an arrow from outside her room, and anor londo won't go dark since the cutscene doesn't trigger until you enter the room. But do you still get the lordvessel? I can't remember.
