Souls obtained?

LOL I already did a thread all about this when I got 1.2 millions souls as a Darkwraith invader and other have got 1.4 million as an invader. If you figure that a 300 lvl it takes 913980 and goes up about 10 000 a level it would cap around 2.5 million at lvl715 give or take.....so 1.2 million would actually put the opponent WAAAAAAAAAY higher than even possible???????? figure that 1 out!!!!

So even tho it is a FACT that its 10% as an invader and 50% as a host of there current souls lvl there appears to be a glitch or when players are at max lvl the game just picks a stupidly high amount of souls to give you!

I am far from a math genius, but even I can see that your math is not working.

It takes 1790 souls to get from level 10 to 20.

It takes 12,290 to get from 90 to 100

It takes 24,962 to get from 150 to 160

It takes 71,330 souls to get from 290 to 300

....see where I am going with this?

It is not unreasonable to get over a million souls from players in the six or seven hundred levels.

Its not unreasonable to get over 1 million souls from a 700 lvl player that invades your world....its takes them over 2 million to lvl so 50% makes sense.

LOL all I know is if you invade the MAX you should ever see from a host is around 250 000 souls from a 700 lvl player....yet even last night I was killing a host invading for 875 000 a kill and did it 7 or 8 times same every single time.

The math always makes sense until you meet these guys were it makes no sense at all. My friend is a 300 DMB and I get 425 000 a kill if he invades and I get 75 000 a kill if I invade him...it takes him 845 000 souls or whatever to level follows the rules to a tee.

Either these guys have cheated somehow or the game has a broken souls obtained mechanism that just gives you the wrong amount of souls I cant figure it out.

I see what DarkW17 is saying but think that it might just be a data collection gap. I've gotten over 800,000 from kills before when I was an invader. Meaning that, per the rate, they would need 8million or so to level up. The chart on the page lextune linked only goes to level 309 which requires over 900,000. By the time you get to that level the per level soul increase is approximately 0.85% what the last level was. In other words, going form 309 to 309 takes 0.85% more souls than the level increase from 307 to 308. Four hundred levels later and these small increases add up to huge changes in souls needed. I could see someone who is near the 710ish max needing 8 million to level up. The rate at early levels is only 2.5% increase in souls needed diminishing slowly to the 0.85% I referenced above. In 300 levels this translates from 600 souls to almost 1 million needed to level up.

Hey guys ya okay I thought about it more and yes 8 million would make perfect sense sorry guys I didnt realize that those slight changes would affect it so much but it does.

Now that accounts for the 800 000 soul guys but what about the 1.2 million or 1.4 million guys how would they end up getting to over 12 or 14 million to lvl then just by start class differences?

I have msg'd a guy that gave me 850 000 souls and he said he was max 711 lvl so how can you explain the 1.4 million soul guys then?

Also how bad do you have to be to lose to me at lvl 225 when your 711 8 times in a row lol!

Anything can happen. I have beaten hosts hundreds of levels above me before. He might have sucked or it could have been something completely different.

One time I had an amiable discussion with a high level guy I had beaten and he talked about how he was trying to get better with a weapon class, (ultraGS). So there I was with my katana that I have logged endless hours using with my level 55 invader against a guy in the 300's using a Zwei that he barely understood.

Made sense to me.

I've found this game is much less about your level and all about skill. For example, under the right conditions a sl1 player can take out a sl 712 player. Granted that that sl1 player knows their weapon and has the skill to do it. Lextunes examples aren't far off. I've fought guys at sl 20 that were near sl 200 and won. Their vit and damage output far outranked mine but my knowledge of my weapon and level of skill over theirs won the match for me.

I'm still under 200 and beaten several 800,000 people. I think most of the maxed level people max out because they're not great at the game. I can't roll out of the Firesage's attack? Let's go level some more. I can't take more than six Gwyn hits? Let's go level some more. I don't have enough stamina to block Sif's double twisty maneuver? Let's go level some more.

DarkW17. If the 850,000 guy said he was max then there's no way one person shoulda gave you 1.4 million. Gotta be Devil's advocate here and ask if you're positive it was from one guy and that you were the invader and not host. If you were host it sounds like he'd need 2.8 million to level which is within reason. Also, I had two 800,000 guys die near simultaneously (killed by another blue) and mighta thought it came from one if I wasn't already looking near the soul counter. Again, just being Devil's advocate here. I assume you're sure of these things which means probably a hacker.

I have gotten lots of 800 000 guys before at the kiln and the 1 guy I messaged that gave me that many beat around the bush abit at first but eventually told me he was max lvl 711.

On the topic of hackers I am sure people are finding away to do it even on PSN...not only because of the guys that give you over a 1mil on invasion but the guys that have more HP than possible....without mask of mother the max HP is 2280 with 99 vit and ring of FAP right...I guess not as I have discovered lately.

Back story- I use a OHKO setup for forest griefers that BS's 2500dmg into full giants...500 1st hit then 2000 2nd hit...a few people have lived from this setup but they all had the mask of mother on so it makes sense that they would live with a sliver of HP...its SLB or CMW buffed great club with hornets.

But even last night at the kiln I took down a phantom with it and targeted the host and got him but he didnt die...he had giants on but the crown of the dark sun...453 1st hit 1987 2nd and he was alive just long enough to take a chain BS for 40 HP lol. So far 4 guys have lived without the mask on and that isnt possible.

If anyone doubts the dmg output of this setup test it out at sl 225 with a strong buff nothing in the game will BS even close to the great club or demon great axe buffed ect they all stat out around 640 unbuffed for me and 1050 with my buff on.

Just watched a video of someone using a glitch (now fixed) to dupe souls.

SL686 requires 7,968,148 souls. So despite being over 20 levels away from the max, you would still get almost 800K if you killed them when you invaded them.

Puts the 800K I got in an invasion once into perspective...

Got 800K and somethng souls after being summoned through red soap stone...

What level was he on.... lol

He actually jumped off the cliff in forest and gifted me the souls.

Sorry Dark......shoulda looked first. There's definitely PS3 hackers too. I've come across a couple infinite health guys and one instance of what I swear was a modified poison mist spell. I think I'm fairly well versed with lag but I have never seen a cloud from one side of the forest to the other while the person is moving while casting.

I did some math assuming an increase of half a percent of souls per level increase (so level 687 to 688 is 1.05 times the souls needed to go from 686 to 687). The increase is about 40k at that rate (which is an estimate again, projected from the first three hundred levels listed on the wiki).

Going up a level with my estimate would be the 7,968,148 plus 39,840 or 8,007,988 to get to level 687....from here to
688- 8,408,387,
689-8,828,806
690- 9,270,247
691- 9,733,759
692- 10,220,447 souls

There's still 19 levels to max out and we've already broke the 10 million point to get 1 million from an invasion. The rate could be lower than what I estimated meaning it would take longer or never quite reach the magic 10 million point but my guess would be that 1 million souls is about right from a maxed out character. However, my guess is a lot of maxed characters are either glitchers or modders.

Hey skare wow thanks man that makes sense yet again I just keep forgetting how high it can increase to get up to 711...because 1.2 million was the most I have ever got at the kiln but someone posted in my old thread they got 1.4 million...I cant confirm that statement tho...seems like it pretty close to your estimates tho.

They only thing I cant figure out is these crazy health bar guys and I know they are modding or cheating somehow...I ran into a cool higher lvl guy on the weekend with 99 vit...he put on full giants but not mask but he did have the ring of FAP...he was died like I thought he should be...he lived tho with a sliver of HP with the mask as we tried that also.

Looks like these guys will need a buffed great club parry/rpstl to take them down...ill get back to you guys if anyone lives from that beast...I can do 3200dmg to the forest NPCs on my way back to rejoin the cov lol!!!

You're absolutely right. There's only so much life you can have and your damage outputs sound like you know a modder when you see one

~2750. I encountered two people in a row who had modified their health to be around the double the possible maximum, probably without dumping any points into it either...

Beating one of them didn't even give me a decent amount of souls, either...
