question about dex

i have a lv81 thief with 40 dex and for most of the game i have used the quelags fury sword. but honestly what else i can do with him??? do i have to raise int to use cmw to benefict more from the 40 dex??? after i get vit and end to 40. or is there another option(besides faith for the same weapon buff) because it seems useless to me to use a fire lighting or other enchaanted weapon because those buff doesnt benefict from high dex.

another option could be to rise str and use the charcoal item????
any suggestions would be greatly apreciated

You could get some buffs like the sunlight blade or darkmoon blade and upgrade a weapon with good dex to +15 like a rapier or katana.

If you've got 40 dex, there is no reason to go higher. Get a +15 dex scaling weapon. Then, decide how you want to buff. Resin, or magic.

The best buff is Darkmoon Blade (at +3). 2 downsides of this buff. To maximize it's power, you need to be at level 3, which requires 80 Souvenirs of Reprisals, and you can only use it while you are in the Darkmoon Covenant. The next strongest buff is Crystal Magic Weapon. This one is really powerful and doesn't have the PITA requirements to maximize it. Sunlight Blade is a really good one too.

So, to help decide on buffs, do you want to go the faith route (DMB and SLB) or Int route (CMW)? Do you want to PvP or PvE?

cmw is minimun 25 int to use has 3 charges. si im guessing is better for pve

Yeah, considering you get 3 casts, CMW is better for PvE. Plus, you can also have GMW and MW buffs with the same Int-based toon.

I would also say that if you are good at riposte, get a bandits knife + 15 and the hornet ring and I think Leo ring is a good one as well. Not 100% about Leo ring though.

Ya unlike most other buffs CMW has 3 cast with lowest stat requirement. My main PVP build is an Int build and does really good considering i'm nothing but a L33T NOOBZ.

Fury sword is great, if on the weak side, but if you're looking for dex options, whats your strength?

At 12 str you can 2h the gs which is really powerful and the moveset throws people, the reg scythe works great both 1h and 2h and katanas are everywhere for a reson.

my str is at 16 if i get my int to 25m with 40 vit and end that will put me at 118. my att is at 16.

I've never acknowledged the Furysword as a good weapon, I laugh at it in PvP (BK shield ftw)

Lifehunt scythe with 40 Dex does a littel under 500 AR, pure phys and 500 bleed. I like it.

GScythe does more physical damage than that, not counting the bleed aspect. But, along with your logic, Blood shield FTW.

I love both Scythes, FWIW.

Hmm. Interesting. Maybe because I use the Crystal GS? I can get damage in the 500s often.
