Offer Great Soul to Covenant?

Praise the sun to all!

I've recently ended my Dark Souls game and started directly a NG+. As I went back to my Covenant's place (being Sunlight Warrior covenant) and gave some sunlight medals back, my rank upgraded to +1 and another option appeared -

"Offer soul of Great Lord"

I still have "Soul of Gwyn" in my inventory. And I never gotten this option before as I was a Follower of Chaos and Darkmoon.

Does anyone know what are the consequences of giving this? I've searched through the Wiki and Forums and couldn't find much on the topic.

that will get you the sunlight spear miracle or you can use it to forge the greatlord sword.

Have fun witht he miracle, if you have 50 faith.

That spear is deadly, but costly. needs two attunement slots, and is only 5 spells. Yet, when it hits enemies, they can go flying and stagger VERY easily. Little to no enemies can not be staggered by it, with the exception of bosses such as Nito, Seath, and Bed of Chaos

Yeah I perfer the spear, at 50 faith you get roughly 750-800 damage and I don't think there is anything you can't stagger with one cast. Been awhile though I could be wrong, but I find it more appealing than the greatsword which just seems really subpar.

Add yourself a ring of the first born, and you reach higher

Sunlight Spear was my favorite thing in the world for a while when I figured out it would knock those skele-dogs in the Tomb of Giants off the cliff, saving me from having to fight them.
