Ornstein, who are you...

I was just wandering around on the Google and I decided to Google Ornstein and this was the first link

So that got me thinking why From named Ornstein that?

Cause clearly they are supposed to be link considering the name and the fact that Ornstein drops the Leo Ring.

Someone might need to edit Leo Ornstein's Wiki page and tell the world that in his spare time he was a slayer of dragons.

I half expected to be reading about his "best friend, Smough, and all their time spent together." That does almost seem to coincidental to not be a coincidence :suspect:

Smough wasn't his friend >:O! Don't ever say that! If he was really his friend then why does Smough smash him with his hammer?!!?Q.Q... Such brutal love then.. Because when you kill Smough, Ornstein doesn't maim or thrust his spear inside him he just touches him farewell and takes his power through a nice way.

BTW This isn't suppose to show the emotion of anger so don't read it in a wrong way.

Maybe Smough was just using Ornstein :affraid: Smough was just trying to get close to him for personal gains... but what...?

Ah yes, I ran across this the other day, I thought it was fairly funny.

Nice link op, gave me a good laugh thinking about editing in that he is a dragon slayer.

Anyway.....memorized the music during the Ornstein and Smough fight to see if it was styled after ol' Leo's. I haven't listened to all of his music yet but so far.....no.....it's not.

is it just me....or does the song "Wild mens dance" featured in the wiki, sound like pinwheels boss theme?

That's one of Leo's I listened to and had high hopes for. Regarding
pinwheel there's some dissonance in both but Ornstein's work is staccato
and piercing while Pinwheel's has some melodic notes underneath and
uses longer notes for the primary emphasis. However, I wouldn't rule
out that there was influence at all. I might have to take a look later
who did the Dark Souls music and compare them to Leo and/or see if there
are any similarities. Maybe whoever did the music for the game is a
fan of Leo.

Speaking of the Leo Ring... Holy crap, I've killed stupid Ornstein about 20 times and I still haven't gotten it on the one character that I actually want to use it on.

It should be a 100% drop rate. I;ve never killed him and not got it.

You know the name Lautrec is also based on someone from the art world? Henri de Toulouse Lautrec. He's a post impressionistic painter. A little person too actually. Maybe From is suggesting that Lautrec kills the firekeeper because he has little guys syndrome and just wants to beat everyone up.
