Flattery, Stun-Locking, and a Large Club Empty Flattery, Stun-Locking, and a Large Club

    Post by neon__noodle Thu May 03, 2012 11:39 am

After a couple hundred hours spent with my first toon, I finally took the plunge and made a second. My first was a dex/pyro focus with a few misspent stat points. (It was my first character.) So I decided that the next would be a Str/Fai build, there's still melee but it's pretty much out of my comfort zone, i.e. he would be slower moving and I've never used miracles before. So now that I'm level 40 and about 5 hours in I have a few observations.

    1) The people on this forum are vastly more skilled than I am. People who talk about doing no death runs or no healing runs, making builds and leveling them to 120 in 10 hours are an inspiration. Gentlemen, my hat's off to you. Flattery, Stun-Locking, and a Large Club 945058907

    2) Stun-Locking is the best damn thing ever. I really didn't know what I was missing. But even two-handing my Mace +7 I am stun-locking and destroying most enemies. It took a while to realize that I had opened a window of opportunity upon stun-locking my opponents.

    3) What does a guy got to do to get a Large Club? How many poisonous, damned barbarians do I have to kill to get one of these things?

On the plus side I finally have a character that's a Sun Bro. Flattery, Stun-Locking, and a Large Club 639795459

    That is all...thanks for listening.

I come back and get the large club once I have the gold covetous serpent ring usually. Welcome to the strength side.

LOL I was the same when farming the Large Club. 410 item discovery, I had to kill about 20, respawning from Firelink Shrine.

depending on your strength you may want to use the great club in the interim while your looking for a large club...

I just got it. I have yet to try it out. I've been struck with that apprehension and fear of new things that I had during my first run through. It's kind of great. I have enough str to two-hand it. I'll give it a go.

you might already know this but the 2h rolling attack is practically unparryable(is that a word?) sopecially if you lock off. the r2 1h is lethal too, it can dead angle not to mention the rolling r1 onettack which does a 360 and it's hard to parry too unless youre really close to your opponent. ii end up using it more than the great club becasue i think the move set is better but the great club hits harder, the poison sucks but when buffed with rottenresin is pretty goo and can poison someone with one hit but most people have really hight poison res so i depends, i go with slb but i used rotten resin a lot just for fun becasue it will still hit hard unbuffed, we can spar if you want and are on psn. good luck and congrats on going with str when everyone else uses katanas or rapiers which i find them boring(and i love katanas).
