Well what is it?
So I just randomly had this idea that I'd like to see done. I want someone to walk up to each boss, use "Well what is it" then get killed immediately after they finish. I would do it myself but I dont have a capture card. Anyone up for it? Helmetless and human would be nice, bonus points for getting killed by a crush attack or swept over the edge.

Re: Well what is it?
the real trick is doing it and not get killed right after. I actually do this to Quelaag quite a bit. Lately I've made a habit of using a male toon, getting naked of all but the sack, equipping the plank shield and butcher knife, and setting my summon sign right by mildred's sign. I generally what what is it Quelaag for that battle. Sometimes she reacts badly.

Re: Well what is it?
lol nice. Seeing someone do it and win the fight might also be cool but I really want a montage of " *crushed*"

Re: Well what is it?
I'd love to try, but my only real means of doing that would be recording on my smartphone, and I don't think the poor video quality would be worthwhile

Gah! Black Magic Design Intensity Shuttle, y u no work with laptops?! 200 dollar piece of equipment just SITTING AROUND. GAH! And I don't have the money for a haupauge. This would be SO fun to do! Anyone want to buy a Black Magic Capture Card for USB 3.0? Records up to 5 gb per second! Meaning live-streaming is perfect, and recording glitches don't happen!

Re: Well what is it?
Is that what people use to record PS3 games? They're just little USB capture drives? Pardon my lack of knowledge here, but it's something I've wondered about.

Re: Well what is it?
The Blackmagic brand is what's usually used for PS3 because it has better quality recording, and since the PS3 has better quality, then it records it better. Plus, it generally records Component better, and you need to record Component with PS3's because they have an HDMI recording protection.
Capture cards record Composite, Component, S-Video, and HDMI, then send that to your computer using USB, usually. The better the USB, the better it's sent to your computer. Black Magic Design Intensity [Insert Model Here] sends the info to your computer better than any other capture card. Shuttle uses USB 3.0, Pro is a card you put INSIDE your PC, and there's 1 more I forget that's best for Macs.
The Haupauge brand capture card that I need is just easy as HECK to use and can be used with almost any computer. Black Magic capture cards can't be used with Laptops.

How much do these things usually cost? Like ballpark for a cheaper one?

Re: Well what is it?
200 bucks for anything that records HD. Idk what price it is for anything that records Non-HD. I think Haupauge has a reliable one that records Standard Definition. But remember, to record in Standard Definition, you have to play in Standard Definition. It's pretty bad looking, honestly. Unless you're recording any console before PS3 and 360, an HD capture card is the way to go.

Re: Well what is it?
Yeah that's WAY out of my price range for something like that. I'm a big boy now. I have to spend my money wisely. Like on video games.
Thank you for the info though. At the very least you satisfied my curiosity.

Re: Well what is it?
Yeah. I'd say you could get an SD on craigslist or ebay for a good price. Then if you feel like you're ready to upgrade, then do so. Or ask for it from your relatives on your birthday/christmas haha! I got my at Christmas. Sad thing is, my friend who's more of an IT guy than me told my mom to buy it for me. Can't believe he didn't know it didn't work with laptops..... >.>

Re: Well what is it?
By the by, Cloud. You can edit the footage from a camcorder if you can plug it in to your computer. Which all camcorders can do. Grab the video file, then use Camtasia (Torrent it) to edit it, and voila. You have a video.

Re: Well what is it?
No idea. No idea what that is, and no idea if Camtasia can edit .mov files. BUT I believe Sony Vegas can edit just about any file. You can torrent that, too. Just not as easy to use as Camtasia.

Re: Well what is it?
OR, if you REALLY want to be professional, grab Edius and freakin play around with that thing until you pull out your hair. Everything's SO hard to do in that program, but once you get good at it, you can do ANYTHING. But, really, if you're just cropping/speeding stuff up/adding commentary. Camtasia or Sony Vegas will do the trick.
