I needs help on a build.

So as some of you may know, theres an fc pvp tournament coming up soon and i ended up joinging the artorious team. So I'm going to create a new toon and try to make up a artorias knight/soldier but all i know is that hes going to have the artorias sword and shield as for armour and stats, thats where i was hopeing i could get some help.

I always envisioned Artorias as wearing black armor, so maybe like black knight everything with elite knight helm?

And for stats, it would make sense for him to be a strength build and then with either faith or intelligence. Remeber though, you will have to invest alot of points to just wield the sword, so if you only want to go 120 expect to be short on either end or vit, or maybe even both, depending on how you build it.

the damage output kinda sucks even on sl 225, with those stats try using the cursed version, it might be better.

after much shenanigans im not at sl 80 and my sword is almost at 500 dmg. but for some reason it take 4 back stabs to kill some invaders, and on other invaders it only takes 2 measily hits? why is my sword weak at times? lol

it depends on your opponent's magic res so it can vary a lot from person to person. also since it has magic it hs to go through two defences which makes it not that good like my beloved grant but i dont care aslong im looking awesome with it.

Are you serious? my grant does more damage than my havels tooth lol

havels tooth kinda sucks thoughm the large club is better.

for pve grant and gsoa are awesome because of the holy amage but pvp not so much, theyre still goo but not as goo as raw weapon.

one more question, if i keep my fai and int at 20 and i increased my str and dex would it increass the weapons regular damage? or does it also automaticly count for magic damage as well?

thats a good question, i guess its phys damage? i have to test it, or you could just level one of the once and check your ar.

I tested it, everytime i increase either my str or dex my phy damage increases by 2 but the mag dmg is not effected. so i guess im going to have to focus on my str for this torny.

According to the Wiki (I could check later, but I tend to trust the wiki!), the Cursed version only deals physical damage, whereas the non-cursed version is split. Then I'd definitely recommend you go for the non-cursed version.

- Med roll, but great Poise... Wasn't Artorias known for his poise?! You pretty much have to wear the Wolf ring if you want to be Artorias!
- I felt Ornstein's armor is the most appropriate, since it's the only set you get that's worn by one of the 4 Knights of Gwyn.

That's pretty much all there is to say about it... There's good equipment weight left for you to play with. You can wield a shield if you want to (who uses a shield? I don't think Artorias would have...) or you can lower End and raise Str and Dex for more scaling. You can also reduce Vit for more scaling, if you like.

lol im going to use a shield and its called greatshield of artorias lmao, in that case he did in fact use a sheild. and from looking at images of artorias and it looked like he had a black knight helm so im going to use the black knight armor but if i want to be able to mid roll i will need havels ring. but yet the wolfs rig was in fact his ring... I dunno man its gonna be a tough call

Well im at sl 100 and im stunned at how this 530 dmg weapon barly can pull of 200 dmg with 2h attacks on invaders. my only option now is to either make a new atrorias sword except this time have it cursed and have no shield. or make a shield and put up with this sword. or go with a different build? this is aggravating me.

It's the split damage, for sure. Try the cursed version.

And if you really want the shield, keep the Wolf ring, but wear Havel's instead of Fap. You'll just need to sacrifice some Vit.

i want to be able to have the perfect build with his sword and sheild and thanks for showing me that chart i was actually planing on replacing the rofap with the wolfs ring. but could you do me a favor? if i have the sif soul on another toon would you be able to trade it for me? like i give you soul on my other toon and then you give it to this toon? that would be awsome. Because this sword is beyond useless lmao.

I'd give you a Sif soul for free, but I don't know if I have any left! Of course I can mule it for you. I'll be on tomorrow (well, today...).

Found this, if correct.. Will help you plan the upgrade path for your weapon and character. From this chart I see my divine uchigatana only scales with dex & faith. ( despite the wiki saying it scales with strength) I also see that 2 -handing it does not increase the hp. Hope this is right. I was gonna sink my points into strength & faith but now will do dex & faith first.
