FC is on every night when there are people on. there is an official chat that most people just auto join every time they log into PSN/Dark Souls and if there are enough people in chat with some Hosts they will just start dueling.

More people come on Saturday, the "official day". But, it is so popular that there are regulars that visit most nights. So, there is often 3-5 players there a night (sometimes even more).

wow im an idiot, i never knew all the chats you join are saved.....(im kinda new to ps3 and this gen consoles). can i be added to the list of people informed when theres a gathering. i always forget.

just log on in the evening/night and good chance people are on in chat

Time does matter. I'm usually on at 10pm CST, and there are usually people on at that time.

Ill start my 120 tonight. Been running around 140 in Kiln. Put me on the list..... Baja_Fish

i think last night was my worst night ever for FC, was getting wrecked left and right.

would you guys be mad if i wore hornets ring? when my ripostes do only slightly more damage then a DMB buffed Iaito or a Balder sword counter with leo ring i cry.

LOL I say go for it Reel, parries are risky, so if you connect you should do all the damage you can. I consider it annoying but I won't let you parry my buffed Iaito again!!!! I shall poke you with my spear!

i say do whatever you do if you'll feel good about it! but know the leo ring setup has its downfalls, have to take of DWGR, 0 poise, low def......hits like a big weapon. at least its not a dwgr+leo+spear.......lol . im really just testing it out, will take it off if it is upsetting folks..
and remember, we are just a bunch of dudes(and gals) sitting on the couch pushing buttons...lol

I have no problems with a Hornet's Ring. I usually don't wear it, because my rapier will hit for 1200-1800 damage. But, I do wear it on my weaker toons (like the one last night where I wasn't balanced and had very little time). I also use it as a "buff", if my opponent buffs (with a serious buff), including red tearstone ring. I'll also equip it against a turtle.

But, parries are high risk/high reward, so it isn't an unfair buff. I just felt bad that one attack I did would one-shot others or take them down to minimal health with only 1 hit.

Last night was great, we were going into the wee hours of the morning. There were also a constant supply of random invasions and random summons. It was hopping!

Also, I realized I suck as an antigriefer host. Here I've got GMB, TWoP, Lightning Spear, GC, 20 estus to heal my whites, but did I use any of it? Nooooo, I just jumped in like an idiot.

yea i don't like the Hornet ring either, i take no fun out of doing 1200 damage with a riposte, but when im taking 700 damage from just normal attacks i feel i have to. Will only use it against weapon buffs and leo ring users.

lol doesn't upset me i was just thinking of a way to counter that damage and didn't wanna be called cheap using that ring if it results in almost one shotting people. i Started to use Great Chaos Fire ball towards the end because its hard to go toe to toe with weapons that swign just as fast doing 3x the damage you do, but every time it hit for 450-500 damage i was like damn that sucks.

Reel you are one of my fav dueling partners, want you to be having fun too. i can still learn how to do counter dmg without that ring on. i will just be the one dying lol.

it kicks butt, i did a OHK counter hit to a vader with it, neither of us was expecting that. was awesome!!! and i liked the fire balls, was super fun to avoid. thought i was using mura at that point tho? which is around that dmg..

counter hit playstyle is way different and hard too, i usually end fight with less than 1/4 hp left. lots of trading blows. there are three different damage conditions to counters ive seen. still experimenting tho. see you this eve bro.

does the leo ring work with ANY thrust attacks? like the poke of the DGM? caue that would be awesome, wanna test it tonight mo?

i doo wana test, and i checked last night while watching you thrust. lol, dont think it will cuz in the descritpion in inventory it does not saw thrust damage on DGM(on attack type). but i would love to take one to the face to find out. lol

edit: pick axe tho. lol

yes, i really wanna try the pickaxe, im gona upgraded on my DGH bild and we can test it tonight, im gonna be on late though, around midnite eastern.

cool, im in the mountains so thats 10pm for me. i tried the pick axe last night but was med roll....i died fast..

lol yeah, it was funny, its actually really good for parries and bs, does the leo ring affect parries and bs?

So when I showed up late lastnight/this AM I threw on DS and started droppn RSS at the kiln....2 time summoned the red is BSn the host and kills him for 295 000 souls...hello my builds done now!!

Its almost your Paladin build Rant but i chickened out and put dex to 10

looks good, theres other weapons you can use with 10 dex.

Also does the red stone work in the gankers favour or something?

when ever I try to go 30 or so lvl its a no go...then at 112 I get summoned to a 400 lvl or whatever guys world go figure...I am not complaining tho

Ya its a great build man I am not relying on anything but pure strength! I mainly put the dex to 10 for the Zwei but I think I can also use GLGS and a few others!

zwei is good when buffed, that thing hits hard. if youre gonna use a gs use the msgs, its the best in the game imo, reach is ok though.

Oh ya for sure dude MSGS is by far the best GS in the game I couldn't wait to put a slab into it!! Pits way to tight for it but with some room the 2 handed R2 does great dead angles! Zweis okay I find it most useful for its massive dmg pokes tho!

Me and a few others on here thought the Leo ring affected Ripostes but I tested it the other day doing parries with a target and rapier and it made 0 difference in damage, with or without the ring I was getting 845 dmg on the Riposte.
