Requesting Build Assistance!

Hi Dark Souls community! I'm cody2, and I just finished my first playthrough of Dark Souls!

Anyways, I'm starting a new game now and I want to try out a new kind of character. My first guy basically did nothing but sorcery. Now, I want to make a build that uses pyromancy and wields a katana. Here's what I got so far:

I'm really new at this, so the only things I'm really sure about are the katana and the pyromancy. Any advice would be very much appreciated.

i actually a in the process of making a similar build. heres what it looked like at sl80 http://tinyurl.com/cmk9ozd for your build i suggest using the wolf ring instead of the east wood grain. you wanna try to get at least 53 poise. as for health having 1800 would be nice, but more added dmg for your katana and faster cast times for pyro might be better then 1-2 hits worth of hp. just my opinion.

waht about this? i 45 dex gets you really good scaling and max speed for pyromancy, also i would recommend the chaos blade you make from quelagg's soul. i switch the rigs becasue you can just carry repair powder. if yo want sl 120 and want better armor go with more end or maybe more pyroamncy or tweak it a little to get 30 faith if you wanna buff.

If I went to sl 120, I'd either go 50 vit and dump the rest into endurance, or I'd go 30 faith and 46 vit. One question though, what's the advantage of the chaos blade over the uchigatana?

well heres the thing. chaos blade is amazing, but it requires you always have 10humanity for it to be at its full potential. if you have no humanity then your better off using the uchi or iaito.

build looks good. im obsessed with tweaking stuff so i made a few more adjustments(that is well worth the change). i tweaked the stats slightly, and added some gear. you will still cast pyro plenty fast with 41dex and youll get 30vit and 30end, which will allow you to wear gauntlets and dusks crown(the main addition) it boosts your pyro spells by around 20%. only thing you need to be careful about that a lot of people forget, it actually dulls your magic defense by 30%(my advice, if you see a magic user take it off)
i know dusks crown can look lame but 20% increase in pyro dmg is worth it.

Awesome, that looks ideal! I believe I'm going to end up using that. I don't mind the look of dusks crown; I would have included it initially, but I thought it only boosted sorcery.
