The Mage Hunter Empty The Mage Hunter

Post by ViralEnsign_ Mon May 21, 2012 6:11 am

This build is designed to rid Lordran of those abominable mages and thier ilk for all time.

I'm not used to making knight builds so advice is welcome. Also if anyone knows how to do a decent Templar cosplay PM me like the ****, that is the Dragon Age Templars.

    Allister/Joran Letos, Knight Templar- www.mugenmonkey.com/darksouls/?c=178071901

Would consdier using Black Iron for the helm and Armour or even Giants for the chest just to get that DA plate armour look.

I myself would make that Sunlight straight sword divine and get rid of Sunlight blade for force so you could stop them mid cast when your vow of silence is down. Or maybe another Wog, and level your faith to 40+ And just use divine and occult weapons. I don't know how the scaling on those are though

Thats just me though. I don't use Weapon buffs other than resins. NO real reason, I just don't like them. Plus, an extra attunment slot is always nice

And for armor...I think you could get something that fits more towards the DA templars, but I'm not sure. (Edit) I mean your chest piece, everything else seems good for what you can get in this game

Mainly because I have no idea what most look like >.<

Oh, one more thing, that shield. You might want to replace it with a high magic blocking shield that can be upgraded down the magic path to block even more magic. Try to be as Anti mage with your gear as you can.

Crystal ring or crest shield would be good. most normal shield shave very low magic block.

The crest seems best for this build. Not to mention a good all around shield by itself

This is the Goal. I only take the Iron Round because I can block physical as if it were a heavy shield and still parry.

it has to be a build that uses a long sword or a large two handed blade but no ultra greatswords.

Its faith of course and like to be anti magic in all things.

try the iron helm, eastern armor, catarinal gaunlets andcrimson waistcloth, looks very similar to the pic you put up. also in my sig is my dark templar which uses kirk's armor and the large lub since theres no huge mace like the one the huge knight has in the church, you can tweak it to your liking.

    Spoiler:

it would only work if you cast it from very far but since it lasts ten secs it would only give you an edge of about 5 secs if you cast it close to them youre gonna get a css to the face and youre dead, its better to bring a fast weapon like the longsword and get in close.

Go for chainmail for the leggings and try a more classic knight body, like elite, normal, or brass, the giants armor really sticks out.

-It affects them, not you, allowing mobility, dodging a SS or CSS isn't that hard xD
    - Fast weapons only increase its effectiveness, you only need to get in range to further hunt them down.

Also, you could even trade WotG with Force, iirc it should stop the spells, rendering the mages primary sksill set useless

@Buggy, I agree, giants armor is overused anyways.

Not really a complete build, but addresses the main points I think should be changed.

Against a caster you definitely need the crest shield, other than that moving to the elite knight armor with chain leggings will lessen defense and poise, but switching the relatively week spell ring with the wolf ring will give you more poise than before.

Oh yeah, and I replaced WoG with force, since it can deflect spells and in much more interesting, since you should be using vow of silence anyways.

i know it only affects your opponet i was saying that it doesnt last very long and as soon as you cast twop people are gonna run away and if youre close enough youre screwed because that thing takes forever to cast, i just dont think its worth it, the only way it could work is the way gankers do whcih to cast as you spawn which is the worst thing anyone can do, i just laugh whenever someone does that to me.

If cast in the middle of combat it wouldnt be quite as effective, but if used in ambush it could work.

if your opponent is dumb enough to get caught in it then yes it could work.

You can't let them think it through, make a mad dash and catch them in it.

I would drop Twop in there Yarx if I had the extra slot though I wanted to hit hard with a righteous weapon, ignore magic damage, silence my foes, and be the wrathful hammer of the gods

    all in one build.
