Capitalists are after your money and so are beggars and believe me with some beggars it definitely is a business and one that pays very well.

Slake has a good point. Begging is its own form of business policy. It aims for guilt and empathy the most. it is a hint of capitalism.

This happened to me the when I was starting my glass cannon sorceress. I was at the Parish waiting to be summoned. I was wearing the thief set that is inside a hut in the lower burg just before the Capra Demon.
When the host looks at my longsword and my outfit he or she drops two bandit knives +5. One lightning and one chaos.
I was like : 0_o!!! I wasn't even able to use them cause my dex being low as I was allocating all on my Int.
Anyway, my built is ready a sl 60 sorceress that co-ops at Anor and New Londo. Last saturday, I was summoned to help with O and S.
The host wasn't moving and suddenly I was asked for Dragon Scales. I didn't had any as I used them all to upgrade my MGS. He said:" ohhh... Ok!!! Thanks!!!"
I saw he had a thief outfit to and was holding a non elemental knife. I texted him back and told him that he could have those and dropped the 2 knives I got at the Parish.
After that we happily killed the dynamic duo.

I'll help them through the level then get to the boss door and ask for a soul of a proud knight or something. If they drop it yay if not I still kill the boss for them.

If I'm asked for stuff I'll give it to them if its no use to me like thieves armor on my tank build

@OP I only drop weapons if I've summoned a phantom and actually want him to be able to help instead of being a simple meatshield (however those are good too) Same for if im summoned to an undergeared host, if they ask for it I would trade for it, but not give it for free.

Last night, my Mage build in the DR GARDEN, gets summoned in, the guy starts dropping stuff that I,,'ll never use ( so I kept giving it back to him), then text him sayin can't use. So he drops a sunlight medal (didn't want that either, but...) so I bowed and gestured toward hydra the butterfly.

@Dakka I was going after Sif and the guy I summoned dropped me a Fire scythe +10 after he saw how little damage I did.

I politely declined because I fully upgraded it,
and loved how much damage I could do with it

Got a beggar today too. Was cooping to get 30 humantity. At 28 someone summoned me, stood still mailed me stating "Sword please". Nothing more. I gave him a dung pie and then he sent me away. I mailed him; "you ungrateful beggar" and blocked him.

i will sometimes give people stuff anywhere after anor londo or lost izalith ext but usually not upgraded, and a lot of the time they give me something in return. its not that big of a deal. plus its not our playthrough thats being ruined its theirs. if i invade someone and they are just doing no dmg i will sometimes drop them an upgraded weapon. i did notice a few of the people who asked me for stuff would try and friend request me and if i excepted they would msg me all the time just asking for certain items(usually the rare ones lol)

I was in the PW the other day and someone sked me for free srtuff. I sai d"Sorry this is a cosplay build, only got what I needed". Didnt send me home so it was all good.
