You take that back! The 4 Kings are an awesome boss, that must be understood to be appreciated. And by understand them, I mean you must learn their moveset. Once you know how they attack, they're a lot of fun to fight!

My biggest problem with them is depth perception. It is hard to know when you're close enough to hit. But, once you know their moves and weaknesses (lighting and magic especially), they become much easier.

They're easy with an artillery of pyromancy and a +5 flame to shoot'em. Oh, and with BLA1NE. But, NG+ doesn't count

The 4 Kings are the first boss I defeated solo my first try, i love them. Not trying to be a rude braggart OP as I struggled plenty with other parts of DkS.
The trick to them is Iron Flesh. Sprint to the first cast Iron Flesh when youre close, ignore all attacks and unload on him. He should die right around when Flesh wears off. Just repeat until victory. As long as you can fight one at a time they're not too bad.

You an even just put on Havel's/Stone giant and tank them, no need to dodge just use the eagle shield.

they aren't that bad if you are a mage hcsm and css make it a piece of cake, for non magic I just put on my strongest armor stamina ring and two hand my iaito and dont stop swinging unless it is to drink estus after I cast power within of course.

Op if you use the stone flesh strategy just remember not to cast it from too far away. Walking with the spell on is so painful.

They nerfed the stone skin to not give much poise (if any) and it doesn't give nearly as much defense as it used to. I believe this was patch 1.04

Never used it pre patch. However I rolled them with my Dex build in Wanderer +10 gear. Used my ascended flame to cast iron flesh and went off on them with my Chaos Blade. When flesh was on I took more damage from my sword then from the kings.
