dressing up before a summoning

I have noticed that when people put their signs down (RSS/WSS) they dress up. For RSS they might be naked with some bad weapon, implying a "easy kill". When you summon them they are in full armour with a good weapon. I once summoned a white phantom for 4 kings, he had a TCC and a PGS in the "picture". when he arrived i noticed that it was a str build using the BKGA.
why do people dress up like this? I would still summon you.

If they are wearing bad gear and RSS'ing it catches people who are soul farming more than those looking for a challenge I would imagine
and for 4 kings maybe they think that you would assume STR build = noob or such.
I found a massive improvement in my summonings when I dressed up near gargoyles. apparently tattered cloth just dont inspire confidence. :')

For white sign, I normally appear naked with a big weapon, and then when they summon I switch to my standard equipment

i wear my normal stuff at all times and i get nothing... then once i decided to dual wield flamberges and got summoned immediately....

So apparently you have to dress up to get summoned by the average player

people do this in the burg alot. it also is good for people who use mlgs. so the host doesnt just put on magic defense gear or use magic barrier ext.
