Rumor: Console DLC August 24th Console Prepare To Die Edition Fall

From an article on vg24.com:

Artorias of the Abyssboth will come packaged with the Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition, due to release on August 24 for PC. Current Dark Souls owners will be able to purchase the new content from the same day for 1200 MS points on 360 or $14.99 on PS3. Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition will release for console later in the year.

According to this.. DLC is coming out for consoles the same day as the PC version of the game and what's shipping in fall is Prepare To Die Edition for consoles which includes the original game and DLC as well as other goods. Think of it as a Game of The Year edition. Please be true...

Depends what else is on offer in the Prepare to Die edition. No point buying the whole game again just for the downloadable content. My guess is there will be extras to encourage us to spend more of our money and re-purchase the game.

If there's awesome extras I will likely get a new edition but instant gratification on the DLC sounds nice too.......

Although I just posted an article from Forbes on the sticky that hasn't heard about a simultaneous release with PC (still hoping it's true though) and has some other things confirmed.

I'm getting the PC version anyway XD which means I will get the DLC if I want to play it with you guys. I was kinda hoping you guys would have to wait so I could play on the PC, then once I'm bored with that, play with you guys!

I don't know how i'd be able to skip out on DLC to wait for full release though. If I invade some guy with some bomb *** new gear and a sick weapon I've never seen before and I don't have it... Eff that.

If that's true I'm getting it on launch day, which just so happens to be move-in day for my college, that's going to be a busy day and night lol. No way will I wait until next year for a few extras. I'm actually almost sick with anticipation to see what new weapons and armor we'll get. What will we possibly be able to make out of Artorias' soul? Sif gives you both swords and the shield, presumably Domhnall will sell his armor, so what's left?

Yeah... Fingers totally crossed on that one...

Would be neat if we were able to get spells out of boss souls again, like from Demon's Souls. I really have no idea what item we could get from Artorias... would be crazy though if we were able to learn a 'Dark Magic' spell from his soul.

I'm gonna get both!!!! I don't care. I want to support FROM, I'm in love with this game and I really want them to give us more and more. If not a sequel then a hole new Souls experience, more brutal and challenging and awesome.

This may or may not mean a lot but Game Stop already has an info page for the PC Prepare to Die edition ($39.95) that says "available for download." Now before anyone has a stroke after you go to "add to cart" and input your age (rated "M" for Mature) it says you're not allowed to view the next page. However, it likely means that stores have begun getting more concrete information. Usually Amazon is great for early info like release dates and etc. and they have nothing on it so perhaps Game Stop is just getting set up in advance of info to make things easier on themselves. It's interesting though that ONLY the download version has a splash page. I imagine the PC version will have a disc based version since there's extras that come with it I believe. There's no reference to a physical version or DLC so I tend to believe they're not just setting up pages to get ready and likely this version has a date they know about. The bad news from that would be that the DLC for consoles might not have a release date confirmed yet.
