Well, I dislike the Romans as a civilization; The reputation that others give them is over rated, and it seems that they are trying to mirror them... its working, which is even more vulgar.

But we are heading towards politics. I digress.

Overall I agree with you with the exceptions of the Super Marcus Bros. (Aurelius and Cicero). I tend to agree with what they had to say a good deal. Not so much many of the other guys. I suppose Russel Crowe was a good one too.

The overall quality of the Romans is a wrong quality, if the cons overwhelm the pros. That is the definition of a right and wrong choice, when morals and ethics are removed. The right choice is always the one with the most pros... following the path of the Romans is one filled with more cons than pros...

Their may be a few that surface as good, however they are muted when compared to the many that are shown as bad. All Romans give Romans an identity, however the identity is bad. Not the worse, as their are pros... but a better path can be chosen.

Well said. That's why I singled out my faves. I might stick with their ideals but copying the Romans willy nilly is not something I'm gonna be up for ever.

There is no form of nostalgia that would ever make me want to follow the paths of the past. Trying to recreate something is always a turn for the worse, and never accomplishes anything other than under development and a copy that is not a hundred percent... ever. Things happen that may never happen again, and trying to recreate the old will never fix anything. Changing the past won't save anything either, and with the ideals of changing the past comes to mind for people, it may never be accomplished or able... ever. Time travel perhaps, but ever lasting change of time in the past? Calculations of the future being not existing to change the past leads towards the recyclement of time resetting what has been tampered, only to recycle itself over and over.

Perhaps the best thing to do is to accept that they happen... it does not mean you should forgive them; Best to note the past as what it is. History is relative and not absolute anyways, as history is kept by man, and man is not known to always speak the whole truth. History should be seen as an idea, and should be seen as a lesson. Nothing more, nothing less. History is what it is, as the past is what it is.

Nostalgia is a weak ideal. Some I sympathize, some I show empathy, and some I mock. Sometimes a mix of these... but Nostalgia of the past being better compared to the present is usually a weak quality, a quality of regret and envy. Nothing in the past is accessible, ever. The advice you should give yourself is to try to reach for something of the Future, of Development and Growth... not that of reaching to the past.

Man looks at the stars for a reason... It is best to remember what you learn, and try to accomplish development of the whole, not to downgrade it back.

I think I am going to kill some Necromorphs with a... hm... Don't know. I hope I did not lose all the DLC I bought for that game, cause I want to kill some dead creatures; Show em who is a real man. perhaps I will try to play both games with just a contract beam, a force gun, or maybe even stomps (although unlikely to stomp, as bosses require 'range').
