Commit some sin for me, please? Empty Commit some sin for me, please?

    Post by Ghadis_God Thu Jun 28, 2012 3:21 am

I'm sure you know how annoying it is to constantly get invaded by those pesky Darkmoon Blades out for ears, right? No? Oh, that's right, there aren't any! My covenant of choice for non-forest pvp just so happens to be ridiculously depopulated, and it's costing every PvPer out there good duels.

Why, you may ask, does no one join this covenant? Surely there are plenty of sinners out there to invade and slay in the name of justice? Nope! Tonight, as on many other nights of pvp, I invaded as a Darkmoon, and in the burg got the same host four or five times in a row. After some forest hunting with my main toon, I went back to DMing in the garden, and after invading the same sinner half a dozen times and taking enough ears from her to make a necklace, I was inspired to write this thread. So let's get to the point.

Sin for me, and all the other darkmoons. Theoretically, we'll have the same invasion rate as wraiths if everyone, and I mean everyone, gets into the book of the guilty. I don't expect this to happen, but imagine if everyone who hosts in serious pvp has racked up some sin? Not only will it help revive the DM's, but you'll get more variety as a host and probably greater invasion frequency if you've sinned. There's gotta be one NPC you just don't like, or you can kill my boss, Gwyndolin. Don't go around with a clean record, a little bit of sin helps everybody.

Buy 99 indictions then invade as a DW handing them out to everyone.

Maybe I should start indicting every invader just to help you friend.

Now due to extenuating circumstances every single one of my characters has sin. So come and get me!

Side note, a darkmoon invasion is the only time I've ever randomly encountered a fellow forum goer.

Dropping indictments is a good idea Dough, and I already indict anyone who kills me while I'm hosting. I know it looks noobish, especially after we bow to each other and everything, but I don't mind as long as I can get them on the list for later invasions. I just hate going to a hotspot and fighting the same person over and over, especially when it's a gank.

    hello everybody

after reading this forum for quite a while now i just registered cause this is my thread. the point is not to sin: it is to get indicted....

to be precise: i'm not one of this book of guilt obsessed guys who only care about their rank. but i play a lot as dw and i can't help myself, i realized that ppl just won't indict u, no matter how u kill them:
fair fight, playing like a shadow in the catacombs, killing phantom first then the host, not caring about phantoms only going for the host - it just doesn't matter.

i recently invaded in b-town started with 0 humanity and stopped at about 15. so it must have been about 30 invasions - well i loose sometimes sad i didnt really count. how many indictions did i get? 3! so 30 invasions for 3 indictions. this is hard work man!
by the way: 2 were from the same guy and i feel sorry now...

so i'm not only speaking as a dw but also as dm, which i like to play too when i say:

    PLEASE INDICT for god's sake!!

personally i'm not mad about these folks or consider them as a looser. but having a hard time invading as a dm is for sure caused by that.

I have no idea how it is on Xbox, and I didn't think a darkmoon could even invade together with a red, it's never happened to me. Sadly, the faith based nature of the cov. does lend itself to that kind of spamming.

I don't understand how anyone who PvP's could have no sin, unless you started yesterday. Or only host.

Okay, so maybe I understand... but I figure most PvPer have sin.

i know for a fact they can invade while i have a rss summon, and those are often rematches or friends.

i really struggle to remember any good fights vs them. just a lot of twop's being cast at the burg archer tower, wotg spamming and me frantically spamming great combustion/parry at them.

Getting killed by DMs reduces sin. So its entirely reasonable to not have any.

@Rifter RSS count as a summon, same slots as WSS, so yes you can get invaded while you have a rss summon.

I was gravelording with a sinner toon and was invaded by DM and DW at the sme time so it can happen.

Also since that homeward bone is given at the parish a lot of people don't have the book. I for one do not indict extra cheap players but I guess I will have to. I also think some people just forget to equip the book.

I usually host burg, but i was waiting way to long for invasions and ended up just invading. It has become clear to me that the majority of players host. From made a mistake by giving hosts so many advantages. I was invading the burg with my sl100, and what do i find? A bunch of hosts playing on easy mode waiting(probably for a while) with their sl150-200+ builds for an invader. I find all the Darkmoons invade dark anor londo. Honestly i dont like darkmoons, i dont understand why from made it so they can invade so many lvls under them(im pretty sure there is no limit). I tryed hosting dark and light anor a few times and since i have sin i was greated by these sl200 darkmoons with 12 wrath of gods and dmb +3 with 50faith and enough dex for their katanas to do max dmg, and still have enough vit to have 1800+hp. Its just stupid. I really cant wait for DLC to see what they do with the whole "arena" idea.

Host should have an advantage they have their world plus invaders to deal with. There is no way to balance a game that is made to be unpredictable. Impossible. The arena will make it more predictable tho.

You can be invaded by a DM 1 level higher than you per sin. So the more sinful you are the harder it is to win. E.g. if you were SL 100 with 200 sin DMs from SLs 100-300 could invade you. The mechanic is quite clever, most DMs are just douchebags.

This is meant to be balanced by hosts being able to use estus.

In the middle of a battle if you try to estus you get BS or hit with some ranged attack is this not true?

Estus by itself does not create balance. True balance ( better yet, semblance of balance) which cannot be achieved IMO is to have a phantom. Then the chances of using estus are more realistic.

Yeah thats why I said "meant to". If you can get some space you can use it but you have to be careful. I never go human in dukes because you just get mobbed mid fight by the stupidly strong hollows or splatted by heat seeeking arrows..

hmm i didnt know about the whole sin allowing higher lvl dm invaders. Oh and about hosts needing more advantages :| 1.They have access to estus 2. They can be aware of an invader before they arrive, and even know the exact spot they will spawn 3. They are able to summon two other players for help 4. Hosts are almost always higher SL then the invaders(invaders cant invade hosts that are lower sl then them) 5.Host can see the invader message and buff weapons/body and rush invader before they fully spawn.

I could probably keep going, but you get the point.

@ dough so we agree there is no way to balance a game like this.

@ Ninja, yea but that is exploiting the game mechanics. And in that sense you are 100%. I do not think the burg was made for people to camp that is what the forest is for. So I think the arena will alleviate some of that abuse.
