Infinite Load Times

Lately I've been getting endless load screens, it got so bad before I deleted everything Dark Souls from my PS3 and just started over, but the problems still there. If I die theres a chance I wont respawn at the bonfire and have to quit the game, which in turn resets my system. I try creating a new character after playing and it freezes right after the cut scene.
I notice its most common when my system is heated up, but its only on Dark Souls where I get the problem. It seems like its working too hard on this one game. Any ideas how to fix it?

I had a few similar experiences and crazy glitches. Forgive me since you've likely already tried this but I didn't think of it for a loooooong time so......

My disc was dirty

I clean it constantly, its in good condition too.

hmmm, this happened to me at launch. I actually returned the game, im pretty sure it means your save is corrupted.

I can get the save to load if the system has been left off for about an hour

Did you kill Lautrec in his cell at the parish? I've heard tell that causes an Infinite saving issue that cause severe problems as time goes on.

nope, never have.

Thats aload of crap lol i kill lautrec in his cell since day one, the problem is just bad luck mate you have a dodgy disk paired with a slightly corrupt save file, the only sure fire way to "cure" this is to remove everything darksouls from your ps3 and get a new copy of the game. althought there is a very slim chance this will not fix anything and then you are doomed to go hollow

Deletd all my saves and gamedata, didnt work. if anything its worse now

Did you get a new copy of the game? you could have a corrupt disk if there is a problem with the loading times there could be a fult on the disk a specific file isnt loading properly maybe?

I'm gonna be using the disk on a different PS3 in a couple weeks so I'll know if its that for sure then.

I had that problem a week or two ago, i went to go get a new disc and that fixed the problem. Also don't keep your ps3 on for so long.
