Bed of Insanity Empty Bed of Insanity

Post by Dark Spirit EliteBiker20 Sat Jul 14, 2012 12:04 am

In my most recent attempt at the Bed of Chaos, it turned out to be the most insane fight out of the whole time I have played Dark Souls. And I am talking about more insane (imo) than fighting the Four Kings by myself on my 5th or 6th play-through. Destroying the two orbs was the easy part, but when I tried to get to the bastards heart, he didnt seem to want to let me in. Each time I would try, I would either roll instead of jump, which caused me to fall into darkness, or I would end up slipping off the branch once I landed there. On my 10th or 11th try, finally, I managed to make my way inside and destroy his heart, laughing maniacally all the way. Although the the battle turned out to be a great success, this was me the whole time I was failing:

It's super easy if you quit and reload everytime you destroy an appendage. I only recommend this method for speedruns though. Don't cheat yourself out of the experience if you're new to the game.

What really pisses me off is i complain about that all the time and when i was at my mates he did it first try. He was super lucky, but it still makes me look like bad. To be fair im a no shielder, so that makes things a bit more complicated...

My one piece of advice is step off the cliff on the right edge of the first stepped edge. That way you dont need to jump or roll you''ll just land flush.

You can shoot the side orbs with arrows.

Sometimes he is really easy, but one time I had to go there 15 times in a row lol. The 14th time I jumped on the root and I thought YES! but as soon as I walked up the root he swept me off. You can imagine the frustration. big grin

And the tips about reloading and arrows are quite nice! (I knew the reloading one, but not the arrows one)

I tried shooting them with every kind of arrow I had, and nothing happened, even after 10 arrows of each kind.

That's odd, I do it every time with standard arrows. Are you shooting the side pylons or the heart? I think the heart is immune.

You need to position yourself under the little nook on the left side of the room and shoot a little to the left of the big root in the clump...

How the hell am I supposed to describe this in text? Haha. Hope that makes sense.

Yeah, I was aiming at the right spot. I even looked at a video to make sure I knew where to aim........... I even tried using Dragonslayer arrows, and the damn thing still wouldnt bust.

The type of arrow is irrelevent. Some bows fire at different angles depending on distance though.
