Hey guys this is my first post topic, just wondering about your opinions in these two supposed to be the same but different movie. You could differentiate them in terms of the new artists and the story or anything else.

The new movie. I liked the new movie better. I'm fairly sure the old one was more faithful to the comic but the new one just felt like a better film to me.

Amazing Spiderman. It's much better in my opinion, I enjoyed the action more and thought it was better done, and the characters are more developed and believable. (especially Parker himself)
Also it got in the lizard, which is my favourite spiderman baddy so yeah
Dan, I'm pretty sure that this one was more to the comic as you know.. It starts with him being with his actual 1st girlfriend he has and the webs are cartridges.. Though then again I'm not expert so I'm sure the fan boys know better than myself

hrm? weird... your probably right serious I dont read comics that closely although I had more of the "wait..." feeling in this one. the only thing that bugged me was that EVERYONE should have worked out he is superhuman by the end.

The thing that pissed me off was the fact the guys in the cranes helped him.. I hoped they'd do away with the cheese that the other spidermans had..

Ugh yeah that was kinda stupid. but it was sorta meant to be an emotional high point and not commonplace though... too many people involved though
(by which I mean at least 6 people help him on the word of a co worker... seriously??)

I though the new one was better.
just more cool parts. Also nothing wrong with the crane scene. I bet I could find stuff like that in the comics.

The Amazing Spiderman is far better. Better actor, better theme, better villan, better girlfriend, better spiderman, more realistic (cept for bing), and a likable protagonist. I hate the original spiderman films because I wanted to reach out a slap the s**t out of spiderman because he was so lame.

Then the blame must be from the director.Extertionist wrote:The Amazing Spiderman is far better. I blame Tobey Maguire, he's crap.
Also whoever said there was more character development in the other ones.. Really? The only time he had something like that was when there was a metaphor for E.D. through the entire second film..

Yeah I didnt see the original as having better character development personally. and if you feel it did, do you think that about just the first one? because it is far easier to expand upon characters over 3 films than one

I liked it to an extent.
'Guy with anger issues stemming from the death of his parents attempts to take the law into his own hands by becoming a vigilante focused only on his own quest for petty vengeance ends up causing more trouble then he solves. Guy get's a huge dressing down about how selfish and stupid he's being, sees the error or his ways and swears to use his talents to fight crime as a masked avenger because he's fundamentally a good person with anger issues rather than a nutjob. Despite adversity and being constantly hounded by local law enforcement, guy saves the city from a genuine nutcase and becomes a respected hero. Sadly however, he’s is unable to be with the girl he loves because she’d never be sure if he’d come home in natty spandex or a body bag and his enemies would use her to get to him.’
Sound familiar? It’s the plot of Batman Begins.

So yeah, the film shares a LOT of tropes with many superhero movies, but that particular combination is strikingly similar to Begins. I mean come on, adding 'tragic parent death abandonment anger issues' to SPIDERman? Really? Uncle Ben isnt enough? Yeugh.
In Begins he marches into a judicial building fully intending to shoot the man that popped his folks, and is only prevented from doing this by one of Carmine Falcone's henchwomen shooting the guy first. Brucie gets slapped twice round the chops by Katie Homes (LOLZ) who makes it very clear she's bitterly disappointed in him and that she thinks his Dad would be truly ashamed. He then jumps out of the car and marches into a mob den, proceeding to piss off one of the most dangerous men in Gotham city (Falcone) and getting smacked down with one of the greatest ‘reason you suck’ speeches in the history of movies.
He’s just managed to make the woman he loves think he’s turned into a petty, angry failure of a man and now has a mob boss who owns the cities police force paying attention to him and threatening his ‘lady-friend down at the D.A.'s office.’ And his ‘old butler’ with murder.
Back on topic, some of the action sequences were pretty cool. Always like a good web swinging sequence too. For me though, Spiderman 2 is still the best of the bunch. I was never much of a fan of Spiderman 1.

Touche' zeck. I was thinking of once he became batman you are quite correct
(What happens to spidermans parents in the comics if anyone knows? or is it just left ambiguous)
