    Has there been an attempt to make an organized list of all the unused dialog in the game?

    I just spent some time organizing all of the voice audio ripped from the game into folders for each character, so I should be able to check every character. I believe that essentially all or most of the unused dialog can already be found in the text dump, however I've found a couple small things that aren't in there. Because the text dump is based on subtitles for the audio, things that don't get subtitles (like certain mumbling) will have their own audio files that are unaccounted for. I've also found a couple alternate takes, one of which seems to be unaccounted for in the text dump because it's worded slightly differently.

    I believe the text dump also has a couple things in there that is unused but isn't labeled as unused, so I figure it might be worth separating. I'm not expecting to find anything major... quite the opposite, I'm hoping I can put to rest speculation about unheard/ lesser-heard dialog. The only reason I haven't listened to it all yet is because the files were a complete mess, initially, and there's plenty of redundancy to deal with.

    So here's what I propose- If I find anything that isn't already covered in the complete dialog youtube videos, I'll ask if anyone knows a way to trigger a certain dialog from a character. If it can't be done or isn't known how, then it'll be edited into a list in this post.

    Anastacia of Astora:
    There are 17 different samples of her going "mmm", "ugghh", or similar. Some make it sound like her mouth is shut and she's trying to speak, others she sounds like she may be groaning or in pain, or getting injured/ killed.

    There is also one word spoken that sounds like "veritas".
    Crestfallen Merchant:
    There is audio of the Crestfallen merchant going mad:

    -..... Hrrg... ...Rrgggg... ...Rrrrrgggg... ...Hrrrggaaaagghhh...

    Dialogue from an unused storyline. You would meet Oscar outside of the Asylum. He could then help you in the forest and would eventually become an antagonist regardless of which Primordial Serpent you side with:

    -A pleasure to meet you. Sage Frampt has spoken to me about you. I am Oscar of Astora. I am told that you rang the Bell of Awakening, and received the word of Frampt. That is a wonderful thing. We are all counting on you. I only wish that I had such a purpose.

    Anastacia of Astora - There are about ten different samples of her going "mmm", or "ugghh". Some make it sound like her mouth is shut and she's trying to speak, others she sounds like she may be groaning or in pain. There's one of her tongue clicking, etc.

    She doesn't make those sounds in-game, does she? If she doesn't I'm guessing that they had initially planned to put those sounds in whenever you got something like "...", or "no response, she cannot speak". Perhaps it was too dramatic and they figured silence made it a bit more mysterious.

    edit: It's 17 samples of moaning / groaning / trying to talk / injury, not 10. Also there is one spoken word that sounds like "veritas".

    PM sent your way. If there's anything like a community FTP I'd be happy to create .zip files for each individual character.

    Be warned, the samples aren't complete lines of dialog, most of them are short phrases. Some characters will have about 3/4ths of their dialog in 'one batch', and then another 3/4ths (with some redundant overlap) in another batch to have everything of theirs. It's quite a mess!

    There are a couple cases where it makes sense - there's one set of Rickert dialog without reverb, and another with, but some characters seem to have a lot of the same samples several times over.

    There's a handful of Japanese samples that got left in there too.

    There is audio of the Crestfallen Merchant going mad.

    There are 4 samples of stammering and grunting that sound increasingly distressed, followed by a long sample of him telling himself to "think! think!... remember, remember!" He's clearly struggling to not lose his sanity.

    The next sample is of him saying:
    "Remember... count... count, yeah... count!"

    Then:
    "Counts number one... one, two, three, fff... four, fff..ffive, fivesix, seven!",

    Then:
    "Count! Arghh.. Hrmmm!! ... I can't... Hrrgggggggg!!"

    They did create captions for this audio, which can be found in the text dump as:
    ..... Hrrg... ...Rrgggg... ...Rrrrrgggg... ...Hrrrggaaaagghhh... ...think, think...remember...remember...remember...count, count...yeah count...count...one, two, three, four, five, six, seven...argh...hrgggg... Hrrgggggggg!!
    The text dump doesn't say anything about this being unused, but I don't see it in any videos and I haven't seen it before. Is there a way to make him go insane?

    According to the text dump, Shiva says this when you attack him:
    Hrg! Mnph! Why, you dirty...! Have you lost it? Turning on us from the very start? You have some guts, to turn on us! Have a look at my sword, for it's the last thing you'll see!
    But in the dialog video on youtube, he only says this:
    Hrg! You have some guts, to turn on us! Have a look at my sword, for it's the last thing you'll see!
    Is this because he was attacked in Blighttown in the video? Will he say the complete "from the very start" line if you attack him in the forest? Or is it unused?

    it would make sense with "from the very start" in the forest after all he will appear in the forest when you join the covenant and shouldn't reappear there

    I don't remember so well, but I think some of Anastacia's sounds might be used once you've expended all her dialogue lines, after resuscitating her and returning her voice.

    I imagine From decided not to make the Crestfallen Merchant go hollow because he sells consumables. And, pre-patch, he was the only merchant who sold large titanite shards... I wouldn't have minded a good reason to kill him though! He's not very nice.

    And Shiva's storyline seems interesting, but way too similar to the one in Demon's Souls (forget the NPC's name...). It's pretty much the exact same. Maybe he was supposed to give you that sword from the concept art, that he was supposed to have instead of the Murakumo.

    Ah, I don't have her resuscitated in any of my games. Can someone check that?

    i had shiva say all of that when i attacked him in blight town, i remember it clearly too, idk if it was a one time thing though because every other time i have never heard him say it...

    I've listened to all of his samples are those are the only times he says it, which are all normal in-game dialog and are accounted for in the text dump. Is there something unusual you thought you heard?

    Edit: Wait, I'm not sure if you can trigger the third one in-game. From the video, it seems to start right at "Well, look at you", skipping over the "Well! You again?" part. I don't think he says it if you die and try again, because it goes to "So, here we go again...".

    Ahh, I did find something interesting with Lautrec's dialog. In-game, there is a line where he says:
    By the Lords... Your face... Hmmm... Your humanity is really slipping...
    The text dump reveals another possible way to start the conversation, which is lumped together as:
    By the Lords... Your face... By the Lords... Your voice... Hmmm... Your humanity is really slipping...
    I found the sample of him saying "By the Lords... Your voice..." - 1413 v040010021.wav. I wonder if there is a way to make him react to your "voice" instead of your face somehow?

    Here's more Lautrec stuff I'm not sure about.

    The following lines of dialog are not found in the dialog video, and I'm not sure how they're triggered (or if they're also unused):

    I entreat you. Have pity on this powerless knight. Surely you can imagine the depth of such dejection?
    You won't let me be? Then I have no choice! You will regret this! How dare you insult Lautrec the Embraced! May the Goddess have Mercy upon you.
    Why, you... How far will you come? !...Please, leave me alone...

    As far as I know this is his first response in Firelink if you talk to him in the prison cell, and then beat the gargoyles without freeing him. You may have to possess the key to free him as well, but I'm not sure.
    And the next time (and onwards) you talk to him he'll only say:
    I have nothing to say. Be gone from my sight.

    In one of my recent playthroughs I attacked him in his cell with a spear, but I don't remember his response to that. Might have just been the same response as usual. I forgot about him and absolved, then got the response above when I talked to him in firelink.
    I now have a character who's close to the endgame, where Lautrec is still in the cage (aggro). I'm not able to unlock his cage, since that option is removed after beating the gargoyles and then leaving the area. I plan on absolving with only Gwyn left, to see if he still kills the firekeeper and goes to anor londo.

    Thanks ublug! That's exactly right.

    Attacking Lautrec in the cell does get the usual response. The above post was updated to have everything left I'm not sure how to trigger.

    Maybe by using the voice stones from the DLC?
