Is it worth taking up 2 attunement slots to use it? Has anyone had success using it when invading? Keep in mind I'm a forest hunter...

Re: Vow of silence in PvP
It is awesome against gankers. As there is usually one caster in the bunch.

Re: Vow of silence in PvP
Thats good to know...I was using TWoP to defend against TWoP users but i may switch to VoS since that blocks magic and pyros as well. And I don't use WotG too much so I don't think I would miss it.

Re: Vow of silence in PvP
The thing about VoS is that you can't cast magic yourself once it's active. So it's very effective if your toon is all melee and fights gankers/ 1vs3. You'll see them looking at their catalysts/talismans and it's very funny.

Re: Vow of silence in PvP
I don't mind that at all since the only miracle i will use is SLB. I can just buff before the VoS. And yeah I love that animation where they look at their catalyst/talisman. Just like when you use Lloyd's and they attempt to heal.

Re: Vow of silence in PvP
I use VoS on one of my builds to Troll. Keep in mind no one in the area can cast anything (Spells, Miracles or Pyro) including yourself, but any "special attacks" still work.
For example I run down to the lower area of the forest by the river at the narrow section and cast VoS when the host/phantom come down. Then I 2H the Grant and as they run around the corner thinking they are safe. BAM R2 WoG to the face and into the river they go. Or you can 2H the Stone Sword and R2 TWOP them and kick them into the river. Either way you will get hatemail.

You would think that if it de-buffed me that it would de-buff everyone...which would come in handy.

Re: Vow of silence in PvP
Nope buffs good to good!
As a forest wraith I don't always like running past Alvinas house everytime so often ill just vade right at the gank spot...that is usually my routine upon spawning buff SLB cast VOS then go kill everyone
Remember you do have to get kinda close to them to transfer the spell...then just run right to the caster who is already doing the silly animation and BS him

Re: Vow of silence in PvP
Nah it can't debuff nor you nor your opponents. So you cast buff, then VoS.

Re: Vow of silence in PvP
Lol vos sounds awesome vs wotg spammers. I giggle whenever a character wiggled their talisman at me threateningly. My only question is wouldn't great magic barrier still be better? Whenever I use it vs casters I just trololol their soul spears and hcsm and hit them in the face :/

Re: Vow of silence in PvP
Not really man great magic barrier is awesome....but it only reduces the dmg A LOT it doesnt stop them from casting...most of the time in the forest people are trying to break your poise with WOG and stagger you so the guy with the hornets and great club can ohko you...or maybe that's just been my expierence

Re: Vow of silence in PvP
Not only that but if VoS is activated and someone tries to cast, it locks them in an animation. Essencially giving your a free hit or BS. I usually just shrug at them while they are stuck in the animation though I find it more amusing.
