Anor Londo?

Is a +5 Fire Estoc enough to beat this part of the game fairly easily?

It does 300 on the character page. Assuming this is the attack rating?

As long as it isn't lightning and it's actually upgraded, you will be fine.

You could also go through this with a Broken Hilt. And lots of patience.

What's wrong with Lightning? I can carve my way easily through the game with my trusty +5 Lightning BSS.

The sentinels are resistant to lightning if I remember correctly.

They may have some resistance to it, but I've never had any problems dispatching any of the enemies using a lightning upgrade. In fact, I've now had to put away my +5 Lightning BSS when venturing through Anor Londo, on the count that it was making things far too easy for me, reverting to two-handing my +5 Silver Knight Spear, as I want to get some much needed practice in before my return back to the Tomb of Giants.

+5 fire estoc was plenty for Anor Londo, but the big dead guy's in the Tomb of The Giants had different ideas when it came to my poker. :shock: :x :oops:

Ornestein is resistant to lightning to a huge extent.

^ Exactly that. Though I cleared Anor Londo with a Lightning Uchi +5.

And Nito should be weak to fire.

Nito is weak, predictable, and he relies solely on numbers... I'll spam Fire Surge and Great Fireball on the huge bag of bones as soon as I see him.

I cleared Anor Londo with a Lightning Claymore before and it even took out the giants in 2 hits.

That weapon should be fine until the lord's, and by the point you'll probably have a better one anyway. Well, Nito and BoC can be done with it, because pretty much any weapon can beat BoC, and Nito is weak to fire. But Seath and the Four Kings, I'd definitely use a better weapon.

I beat Seath with Lightning weapons all the time. Specifically the Lightning Greataxe, but either way, its never given me problems. As for Nito, I just spam him with spells.

My strategy has always been a SLB/DMB great weapon. I usually pummel him to death. I don't think I have ever seen his spawns be so aggressive though. I can't land but 1 or 2 hits before I get three shot to the grave. The estoc is proving to be difficult to master.

Lightning absolutely destroys fatty, and that gets your confidence up.....

.....you need something, almost anything, else for Ornstein. Lol.

I was talking about his +5 estoc, not your lightning claymore.

This is kind of hard to explain, but there is a spot in Nito's cave where you can be pretty much invincable as long as you keep your shield up. When you drop down into his cave, go left until you see this group of rocks sticking out of the ground. The rocks are sort of shaped like a "u", to where you can back up into them and aviod all attacks from the side or back. Like I said, it is hard to explain, but it makes Nito's fight seem like nothing, no matter what NG your on.

Maybe this will help. Its the best pic I could find on Google. Look at the top left, around where Nito is. Those rocks are what I hide in.

Keep your shield up when you here him scream. The sword wont do as much damage.

Or just roll at the end of the scream, to just dodge it.

You can finish Anor with the drake sword, the lightning spear you grab at sens and lets not forget that awesome crystal halberd

actually after you defeat smough first ornestein will become weak to lightning ,it's like this :
ORINGINAL / TRANSFORMED
{Ornestein}weakness:fire /weakness: lightning
resistance: lightning /resistance: fire

{Smough} weakness:lightning /weakness: fire
resistance: fire /resistance: lightning

I made it fine with a Raw Broadsword +5, so I'm sure you'll be fine. Won't help against the archers, though. Oh, the archers......I may never recover from the intense psychological damage I suffered in that section.
