a note about chameleon

hey, this one will be short.

i've recently been using chameleon with my mlgs build, and i've come to realize that you CANNOT transform when you have a grass herb on you. i'd assume this applies too other effects like replenishment and power within as well.

the grass crest shield does not effect it, and i haven't been able to test if weapon buffs will both it either. i'll do that now with some resins, one sec.

yeah, i mean i checked the wiki and this stuff isn't there... so i thought i'd give anyone here a heads up if they plan to go that route.

edit: just buffed a +15 dagger with pine resin, was able to cast chameleon and did so, came out of chameleon and the buff was still on. on a side note the crackling noise was also silent from the buff as well.

Yeah you can't stack self buffs.

never considered chameleon one of those buffs honestly hahah. i was kind of shocked when it didn't work.

oh my dear god chameleon is freaking LETHAL MAN.

ive used it to great effect about 3 times in this past hour, i just pop chameleon
and instantly start casting crystal soul spear. the opponent usually
gets confused for a split second when their lock breaks or runs at me
for an unlocked r1 and BLAMO SOUL SPEAR TO THA FACE!

love this spell. can't wait to use the mlgs r2's and stuff with it too.
direct hits with that r2 are another story hahah.. can't believe i thought this sword'd be a backstab fest for me.

you have to do it right tho. when they back off from you, like if they dodge a sword attack or something pop chameleon and their camera will go apeshit on their end. as soon as you cast it start winding up soul spear.

most of them just try to relock and realize you're a crumbling pot before the soul spear hits them.

i also believe you have backstab immunity because this guy tried run r1ing me while i was crawling away as a barrel for lols.

Been using in demon ruins, i use to unlock from opponent, then watch them run past, don't have int for CSS yet

You don't have backstab immunity with chameleon. I've backstabbed someone before who was disguised as a tree in Gankroot. I think he was as surprised as I was Purely luck, of course - there's not really any reliable way you could tell it was their back, unless they were consistently moving in one direction perhaps. It's an uber fun spell though!
