Velka's Executioner

My favorite types of builds, Str builds. They are so hard to make, to play and to master. That's why I need your suggestions for this one. I always try to go hardcore on planning builds, and in this one I want to 1 hand the Smough's Hammer, my favorite hammer of DkS. The 1 handed roll attack is a large 360 swipe that seems effective on this one, because of its long reach.

Also as you guys know I try to make my builds look good and have some lore, and as a dedicated Darkmoon, Smough's Hammer is the appropriate weapon for spanking sinners all day long. So the armor has to be shiny, stylish, God-like, Anor Londo themed, just like the hammer. I'm also fascinated by the Avelyn, that crossbow hits too hard, and matches the build nicely. I'm worried about the poise, but as I'll only rely on the roll attacks of the hammer, is it really important to have it high? I'm also doing it SL 99 for LH arena. Tell me what you think.

I wouldn't care about defense with this build. At least with this set-up if you survive with low health you'll be able to fight with hyper-mode activated.

If I get BSed I'm f****, and with the high susceptibility the great hammers have to roll BS, I need all the HP I can get. I could try it nonetheless.

I have to opposite opinion to you on STR builds Wyrm but I like your themes. You always make them far more interesting than picking up a Greatsword and stunlocking your way to victory.

Great idea Rant I can live with 21 poise. I really wanted to use Avelyn, but I guess it's just too heavy for the build.

I think you should take enough Poise to withstand stunlock by the poking weapons. Players who use them will be looking to poke you as you wind up an attack anyway, and you'll be a sitting duck. It's a shame though, the armour looks cool

Well I could change Avelyn for a Light Crossbow and equip Giant gaunts, which give me 21 poise for resisting 1 handed kats/spears/halberds/etc. They also match the build's looks. But I really wanted Avelyn, damn.

Avelyn is cool but if your opponent is smart Hes not gonna go too far from you u since firing it Up close is a guaranteed bs. Whenever I see someone using it I get eenough spacing to let him think that he can get a shot I. The either b.s. him or stun lock him if I don't have enough time for a bs. Go with the kugjt crossbow, it's sill gonna hit for a solid 150.

Ok final result. I added GC because that spell is great for finishing off and for roll BS fishers.

I'm capping it SL 100 for the mass invasion event. He is hungry for sinners, he will scorch and spank them with the hammer all day long.
