So i'd say we still go get the crossbow, even if it's just for those couple wrathful arrows. It's not like we have any ammo for the shortbow anyways. If we want the 16 bolts too we have to throw something out but all the items we have seem a little too important for that. :s

I go back to where I first brutally killed the hollow soldier, i drop my short bow and grab the spear. and run down the stairs back to the lobby with the merchant.

Question: Why do we have a Battle Axe in our off-hand? It sounds superfluous and it's putting us at fat roll speed. I don't understand the logic.

The battle axe is on your back. When you carry a weapon I put it in a slot, but that doesn't neccesarily mean you use it from that slot. If you equipped the battle axe, unless I'm otherwise told to, you'll hold it in the appropriate hand.
