Artorias The Abysswalker Build

So I want to make an Artorias run...

How do you think an Artorias build should be?


Should I start pyro? or which class?
It must be a pure str build I supposse with no Int, Faith nor buffs!

and using the complete artorias set (which I'll get like in the midle of the game after getting the lordvessel right?)

So, what do you think?

What should be the cap level? what stats should I have?

If you wanna use the greatsword of Artorias you'll need faith and intelegence

Judging from his swords' requirements I'd say you'd need both int and faith to be... faithful. Judging from Artorias's boss fight I'd also suggest 99 resistance, because MAN that guy isn't weak to anything!

I'm joking about the 99 resistance, but I did see a guy on the leaderboards with 99 res a while back. I think it was the Chaos Cov rankings, actually, and if I'm remembering right he was only around sl 150.

Isn't the obsidian sword closer to how Artorias fights than the Artorias sword?

It works pretty well for me.

I only cosplay Arty on my SL280 something that has 50 in every scaling stat. That's pretty much the only case in which the True sword is massively useful. The Abyss sword however, scales with Humanity and gets very, very strong if you have 40 Str and Dex. For an Abyss Sword build, I would use 27 Str, 40 Dex, 10 Humanity, and 18 Int and Faith. Deprived might be the best starter class for that, or maybe thief, as they stat with higher Int and Faith.

that is my current Abysswalker build, seems to be working out pretty good so far, still getting used to not having a proper shield which is harder in PVE than it is in PVP for me. but the dark hand is far more impressive than i originally thought though.

it doesn't really matter what class you start in when you start an Artorias build, they all end up at about the same level because there aren't really any wasted stats, well, unless you don't want any attunement slots to take advantage of the FTH and INT requirements that is.
