Rubbish in the dlc Empty Rubbish in the dlc

I was thinking today, in the dlc you can pick up rubbish.
The only thing that you can do with it is trade it for a chunk, but as you can already find rubbish and can only trade 1 of each item per play through whats the point of it?
Maybe its the missing link in finding out what the pendant does. lol!

There's an oolacile resident that drops down behind you. I assume it's meant to be a lure much like the rubbish down in the Burg.

Hasn't the pendent been revealed as one big joke by the head of the Dark Souls dev team?

Well, what he actually said (note I don't know whether he said it in Japanese and it was translated and therefore stands the risk of meaning lost/altered in translation or if Miyazaki actually said this in English) was that regarding the pendant, he intended to 'play a little bit of a prank.' This is (quite reasonably) interpreted as meaning that there is no actual in-game use to the pendant. That statement does not actually absolutely state that it doesn't, though. Even in his 'confession', I think Miyazaki is trolling us.

The rubbish is actually the ultimate piece of lore within the lore universe of Lordran. Everything is useful here, even the rubbish. It can be used to lure out the player into a trap in the burg and it can also be able to lure you out when you are running through the DLC.

After that, it's a mystery. Some say that rubbish is even more important than the Lordvessel and others say that it is just rubbish. Some say that rubbish may in fact be used to unlock a secret third ending and others say that it is just rubbish.

No one will ever really know what rubbish may do, but one thing is for sure, it does have value and it will return in the sequel.

Or maybe this whole post is just rubbish.

When the game first came out he said, "Choose the pendent or nothing at all." That means pendent = nothing. lol!

That reminds me of Demons' Souls. The dreglings sometimes drop slave shields, the worst shield in the game. In the area after the Tower Knight there is an item in a narrow corridor at a dead end. You pick it up, and it's a slave shield. Then a ninja drops behind you and traps you in the corridor.

I've wondered if Rubbish may be one of the possible items for creating item-spawned vagrants. Of course, there is nothing to currently indicate that it is, so it's just a guess I've considered.
