pvp etiquette when being invaded

just a post to gauge players feelings and opinions on pvp etiquette when being invaded.So at the moment i'm invading as a SOV in the kiln and there seems to be a complete lack of sporting conduct which i find rather sad lol theres no bowing no time for buffs and most of the time before i'm even out of the animation there already lining up a BS so some thoughts lads is this a hosts right because they've been invaded or is it a lack of pvp morales would like to know other players thoughts on this because even as an invader i always bow allow for bowing buffs etc

Lack of pvp morals. If you line up a BS as your opponent is invading that means you knew where they were going to invade and that you were going to get invaded at some point.

neve eecpect people to follow your ruless, you wil end up disappointed almost every time, if you want a duel go to the arena.

what about the bowing etc

when i used to host i bowed *** they were spawning or when theyre far away from me just to make sure they wont get a cheap shot in while im bowing.

I always bow. Its how I roll. Other people don't roll that way and that's fine.
But Rant is right about one thing, dont expect people to play by your rules.
That doesn't mean you have to play by theirs and sink to their level.
Fight the good Fight. thats all that matters.

If someone's invading me when I'm questing, they are not welcome there. I will use anything I can to kill them, or even just run to the boss. There are no rules or etiquette. And, I expect nothing less from my invaders. However, if they bow, then I'll bow back.

If I'm camping/hosting or otherwise dueling, then that's different.

If you want honourable duels with bowing and all, use RSS, or Dragon Eye, or host and summon via those. If you're invading, or face an invader, don't expect honour, nor bowing, or anything. While there are "good" invaders, general rule is that they invade your world without your permission to slaughter you, so expect that more than anything else and prepare for it.

Whenever I invade I message the host asking there permission to fight them. If they say no, typically I leave out of respect for their right to choose.

Sometimes I am not so merciful.

Also if an SoV invades me then they ABSOLUTELY have the right to kill me. If a dark spirit invades they are trespassing and have no right to be in my world.

I still show respect to both, but my point remains that if you get invaded by an SoV

My world, my rules. What do you expect to get after you invade, instantly making my world more dangerous, shows up and bow? You get a backstab. Want duels? go to duels areas.


I used to bow everytime, but I died so much doing this that I noticed how much time of fighting I was losing. So now, bow only for red soapstone/arena.

If an SoV invades you, it doesn't matter if its your world: YOU DESERVE IT.

You gave up on honor because it got you killed. That is BS.
If a noob like me can get bow-stabbed at the start of a fight and still win more than half of the time then a pro like yourself has no excuse.

IF a Dark Spirit invades, you are absolutely right: It is YOUR world. They do NOT belong there.
But even if they are a Dark Spirit, you being an A$$ is your decision. Don't try to say they deserved it.

dude, I can get sins by starting as cleric, then joining Princess guard (abbandoning covenant)

and I'm not saying they deserve to be backstabbed, I'm just saying that I don't understand why would you bow, if the only reason you're there is to kill me, and not have a duel.

I'm sure that no one (serious) bow to gankers, thats asking for getting crushed. Same with my world, except no phantoms.

I know that clerics and knights start out in the way of the white covenant but if you don't want sin just go talk to Oswald of Carim and pick the Abandon Covenant option.

If you get sin from joining the princess guard and later on get invaded by an SoV, guess what

Besides, an invader could have any number of reasons for invading. Lord Of Ash for instance invades your world and then trades you awesome equipment.

On gankers. I always bow to gankers after I kill them.

Assuming that you leave the equipment very far away, or try to message me, or do not get near me with a huge Demons machette, I won't attack you right away.

I don't bow to gankers before the fight, I simply don't have enough time. I would if I could but I really can't.

Im serious about bowing to them afterwards though. I see no point in bragging, the fact that I beat them 2 on 1 tells them everything they need to know. Might as well show them that I have no hatred for them, and I do that by bowing to them. Right before I cut their ears off.

I understand about bowing after

I never taunt anyone, after killing someone I either bow or simply walk away.

I really respect that way of thinking.

If I get invaded I make sure to troll him before killing him

about invasions, I'll do them like they're supposed to. Both invader and host doing whatever to survive.

Let's just say I disagree 100%.

This is a fundamental game mechanic. One which makes this game both unique and awesome. The hosts choose to be in human form, knowing the risk of being invaded. After all, they can summon phantoms. It is risk/benefit game they are playing. If they could summon phantoms without the chance of being invaded, then this game would be laughably easy. This is reinforced by the fact there are usually a lot of summon signs in high invasion areas. Balanced.

Otherwise, it would be as easy as:


Darkwraiths absolutely belong there. They don't need permission. They got the permission the second the host went human.
