It totally does. I play randoms and/or get mutilated in competition when I show up anyways.Reaperfan wrote:Holy necro, Batman!
I want to ask a simple question with this attempted revival:
- Does this predicament apply to you?:
And I mean for any fighting game, not just the one the meme uses as a background.
Because it certainly does for me, and it's annoying not having anyone to play with. So let's fix that with the power of online matches and friends lists

I don't actually recognize the second acronym, but I'll assume since it starts with "bb" that it means Blazblue. For Blazblue I play Tager, and only Tager

Re: Fighting Game General
I pretty much suck at most 2d fighters. If you want me to juggle you for 1/2+ your health in DoA I can, but if you're expecting good things from me in MvC3 you'll be dissapointed.

Re: Fighting Game General
I'm pretty good at Street Fighter 3, Super Smash Bros. Melee, and of course, Dark Souls.
But I really want to try getting better at MvC:3. And Skullgirls is supposed to be a pretty fun tournament fighter.

Re: Fighting Game General
Alright, I'm going to get me some food and then eat it, as per the norm. Afterwards I'm going to play some SSFIV:AE on the good ol' PSN. If anyone would care to join me, drop a PSN ID, we'll get some friends lists extended, and some endless matches going. Sound good?

Re: Fighting Game General
Nope. I have pretty bad execution skills, so in really combo-heavy games like BB I tend to solely stick with big, slow guys since their combos tend to not be very taxing on my reflexes.White Knight Wulf wrote:Reaper have u tried Makoto in bbcse?
The only other characters besides Tager I've tried in BB were Hakumen and Taokaka, neither of which really stuck with me.

Re: Fighting Game General
EDIT: And just as a clarifier, it's been a while since I've been into BB, so whatever I say is based off of Continuum Shift, and NOT Continuum Shift: Extend. I didn't even know they'd made another expansion off of Continuum ShiftWhite Knight Wulf wrote:Ah wat combos do u noe
Well, it's a pretty flexible combo system in BB, so I don't think I can name all of them that I know. Also, it's been a while so my terminology might be off, so please forgive any mistakes
---------------------------------------------------------
Anyway, for Tager:
Combo openers (aka moves that start Atomic Collider setups):
Spark Bolt
Aerial 2C
5A > 5B > 6A
2B > 2C
Back throw
Sledge Hammer first hit (only on counter hit)
Atomic Collider followups (non-magnetized):
2D
6C > 5D
Aerial C (whiff) > Aerial 2C (right before landing) > 2B > 2C > Atomic Collider
Spark Bolt > 5C or 2C > Atomic Collider
Atomic Collider follups (magnetized):
Atomic Collider (whiff) > 6B > 2C > Atomic Collider
Gadget Finger (starts command grab mixups)
Magna-Tech Wheel
---------------------------------------------------------
So basically any of the opening moves lead into an Atomic Collider (or another opening sequence), which then leads into any of the Atomic Collider Followups, which typically lead into more Atomic Colliders allowing you continue with more followups until your opponent's hitstun from extended combos is reduced enough where you can't combo afterwards. So some examples of a full combo would be:
Spark Bolt > 5C > Atomic Collider > Atomic Collider (whiff) > 6B > 2C > Atomic Collider > 6C > 5D
Sledge Hammer (counter hit) > 2B > 2C > Atomic Collider > Aerial 5C (whiff) > Aerial 2C (right before landing) > 2B > 2C > Atomic Collider > Spark Bolt > Magna Tech Wheel
5A > 5B > 2A > 2C > Atomic Collider > 6C > Spark Bolt > 5C > Atomic Collider > Gadget Finger
Also, after a B-strength SPD you can combo into a quick magnetization with:
B-Tager Driver > 5B > 4D or Spark Bolt
And that's the basics of what I know

Re: Fighting Game General
Connie? I'll assume since it starts with "co" you mean some kind of slang for "combo."White Knight Wulf wrote:Not bad do u noe any Connie that reset into spd?
It's been a while so the details of enemy movement and behaviors for setting up resets aren't exactly fresh on my mind.
The best I can recall with any kind of detail is after a successful Gadget Finger you can go for an immediate SPD, mixing up an A or B strength one depending on if you think they'll expect it or not. If you don't think they'll expect it and therefore aren't expecting them to counter the grab, you go for the B strength. If you think they'll try to counter it, you go for the A strength one and hold it for a split second, using the brief invincibility to dodge any rising attacks or grabs they might try and guaranteeing a counter-hit grab which they can't break away from.
Another one I'm remembering, even though I could never pull it off, was if you perfect guard an enemy's attack you can basically guarantee an ultimate SPD by inputting the 720 motion during the block. I was never fast enough to do that though.
