Excuse me.
I wouldn't call Solid Snake cowardly.
(hiding is crafty)

The bosses yes.
when you re not fighting bosses the game encourages you to hide and avoid alerts.
Also that was a Japanese game.
Aren't ninjas from Japan? Ninjas hide, I wouldn't say they are cowardly.
Saying the Japanese associates hiding with cowardice isn't necessarily true.

^ Ninjas hide only because they are outnumbered. If the host had 2 Sunbros, then the red can hide all he wants. Since the host was alone the red was a coward because he hid.

I'll make my two cents brief. Gankers suck, hiders suck. Spam the hello carving to annoy the guy at the ladder if you have the DLC. And disconnecting is bad, mmm'kay?

Agree to disagree I guess.
It doesn't matter if it was cowardly or not though. Any tactic except hacking and ganking is fair in Dark Souls and does not warrant a disconnect.

Sorry to bump in like this, but it seems the only way an invader is 'worthy' of humanity is when he engages in a duel. But invading was never meant for that. Invaders are here to kill you, by any means necessary. If he causes the host to die, then he is worthy.

Re: Camping the ladder in Sen's
Hiding for a long time doesn't really count, does it?
I'm not expecting every invader to duel or be nice or obvious but I do kinda expect them to try and kill me at some point. This is a bit unrelated but I've seen tons of invaders go hide and AFK,I fail to see the point.
Killing someone by any means necessary implies you will actually attack them...

Yes, I was referring to sneak attacks. If the invader hides 24/7 and you die by enemies, falling off a cliff, etc., then the invader should'n't deserve itKrazykevS10 wrote:Hiding for a long time doesn't really count, does it?

Re: Camping the ladder in Sen's
In this situation, you would be wise to summon two friends in the pit. Have them risk their phantom lives climbing the ladder while at the same time draining the invaders wotg castings or whatever cast he is trying to get you with.
I have had this happen to me and luckily I had vow of silence attuned. All I did was cast it, climb stairs, watch the pyro fail at casting, and eventually get on his platform and beat the crap out of him.

Or, how about this? You put your controller down, get a sammich and chips, chage your TV over to the latest sports game, or start some netflix and just wait for him to get sick and tired of making immature gestures without getting a response? BTDT. Kinda fun to keep checking in and seeing how much patience they have.

I'm not saying all invaders should fight in a fair duel. I'm just saying they should at least try to fight. That's why From added invasions. They wanted a random intelligent enemy, and invasions fit the bill perfectly. They didn't add it so random people can get paid for observing a host's death.
