I thought they've said multiple times it won't be next gen, at least they have no plans for it? I hope they changed their mind, because March 2014.. Next gen would have been underway for, presumably, 3-5 months, it could have a pretty negative impact on the games success.

This could be great news for me in the end. It should let me catch up on my plus backlog and....

I told my wife there might not be a reason to get a ps4 if Dark Souls II came out just before it since I'd just be playing DSII anyway. Now there's plenty of reason for a launch ps4

I will not be able to play video games at all until the new year starting next month, so this is great news for me , don’t wanna miss the first months of its release. Also, i think its a a good thing...the more time it takes, the better the results.

I REALLY hope that they are trolling. FromSoftware and Miyazaki have been known to fool their fans time and time again:

1. Pendant rumors (That went on FOREVER)

2. The Ceaseless Discharge skip (even though it was possible, as Miyazaki confirmed later)

3. Who the firstborn was (Same as pendant, but answer was more clear and the true firstborn was a lost concept in the development process. See Andre)

4. Who was the Pygmy, the purpose of humanity, and whether the Link the Fire Ending was evil or not (This all then became speculation, except for the humanity and the Dark Soul/Pygmy connection were true)

5. Even the dlc was a big deal, remember when they said that Dark Souls was 100% and did not need dlc? That was half a year ago before they announced the PC port.

This could be another trick that FromSoftware is doing again with the whole "treat it like a AAA title" thing going on. The truth will be revealed later on at E3 2013 (June 6, 12 I think?).

I'm actually pleased to see that it's in March, only for the fact that I want to get a powerful enough PC so I can play this on max settings at a glorious 60fps. If it was out in October I would end up getting it for PS3 which would spoil the visuals a bit as I wouldn't be getting that full wonder that you get the first time you see it. I'm sure most of us here would love to experience again the first time you see Anor Londo all maxed out on ultra settings.
