Player versus Player

Hi.

Every time on PvP, no matter how light armor im wearing, or heavy, no matter which weapon im swinging, or thrusting, im gettin spanked. Usually, other fighter is far away. suddenly, the fella is backstabbing me. is my internet connection so slow, that it shows like i explained? it really frustrates me off.

Better not PvP anymore, if this continues.

if you're actually in finnland its quite possible that instarun+ lag+lock bs might make it look that way. your connection could also just be slow, try reseting the router.

You could have the fastest internet in the world, but it wouldn't matter if you have to go half way across the world to connect to a game. Seeing as you'll be mainly playing against US and Japanese players you're probably going to have lag in almost all of your matches.

Yeah, everyone is affected by the lag. Problem is there's a very generous backstab window behind you, so an opponent can be pretty far away and be within range of triggering a backstab. Couple that with lag, where your opponent is actually a little closer than you think he is, and it seems like you're getting backstabbed from retarded ranges. Trick is to try and never directly turn your back on an opponent. There are still ways they can exploit to backstab you, but they'll need to get closer to do it.

So, do this lag affect all the European players? Do i have to suffer eternally unfair matches? Matches i would propably win without lag. Light fiber connection is not available in our neighbourhood, so this is a bad situation for me.

That sucks for you if it'll always be like that. Yesterday I got backstabbed from the wrong direction -- there was a full stride-and-a-half separating him and I, and we were in the wrong order, I was facing HIS back. If that kind of thing happened regularly I'd never play online.

By the way, where are the Dark Souls servers? Just in the States and Japan? Are there any in Europe? Can i choose to fight only European players? Obviously i cant, cause the game chooses opponents based on Soul Level.

There are no servers, it's p2p worldwide, so it sucks for us Europeans. But I'm back on Demon's Souls, the servers are a joy after the lag fests of Dark Souls
