I thought I'd put this out there since I've made several new builds since the BB glitch became known and not once have I used it. We need to put the word out to every new player stuggling with griefers or people just simply making new build "the right way" to simply join the way of the white covenant. I've done it with every new build until I hit about level 50ish and I've very rarely encountered griefers within my own world. Plus bonus its great for some jolly cooperation to help your fellow players. And they don't have to play offline or hollowed all the time.

Re: simple griefer solution
I agree with this idea. I tend to play no covenant(till I get to my covenant of choice) on my builds due to my love of showing griefers how real players fight, but I remember back in the day when I was still new to the game. If some one had told me that Way of White would stop the DWs, than I would have joined with alacrity.
I've been spreading the word on my home forum and in the help areas of all the Dark Souls forums I can find. Maybe others will help in this endeavor as well.

Way of the White helps a lot, but doesn't eliminate invasions entirely. It just seems to route invaders away from you unless they have no other targets.
One other completely unscientific observation I've had is that you are more likely to get invaded if you have summons of your own. When I'm alone on a WoW character I can go 30-45 minutes between invasions, but with summons the gap narrows considerably and sometimes I get invaded as soon as my first summon appears. All in all, a fair trade off I think.

I tend to play Clerics, so I never really experienced griefers.

Re: simple griefer solution
I've found such as well. It's true for normal, none WoW, play too. Any time you have a summon, it seems as if you gain some kind of rank of threat to invaders, and are placed higher on the invasion list. I'll go an hour of walking through Kiln at sl 125 as a human and have no invaders, but the second I summon a person to make the Gwyn fight super easy, I get invaded for all three of my invasion slots. I guess it's an attempt to make summoning people for every boss more risky. If you know that you'll be invaded to death before you can even reach the boss, you tend to turn to other options.befowler wrote:One other completely unscientific observation I've had is that you are more likely to get invaded if you have summons of your own.

Re: simple griefer solution
I read an interview a while ago about this. Its a server swap. Way of White are a true hive-mind covenant. The more people in Way of White, the lower the chance of invasion. Way of White causes members to be pushed into servers together making it much easier to find a partner, and a lot harder to get invaded.
Example
P1 and P2 are both in Way of White. They are now put on a server together, making it easier to find each other. They convince their friends to join. Now, somewhere near 50 people are in Way of White, all merged into the same server. Server is now full (I know 50 is low, this is just an example). Invaders cannot touch the server, they cannot invade anyone on this server, and now they are sent to attack a different server.
Thats basically how it all works. More people in Way of White, less chance of invasion. It might also apply to Princess Guard and Warriors of Sunlight.

Chaos that's about how it works. Though the servers aren't ever really 'full' as you're frequently cycling between different clusters of players based on what you're doing. Being in a covenant like Way of White of Princess Guards just causes the game to group you with other cov members, leaving less room for invaders in your cluster, though I doubt it ever completely fills a cluster with just WoW or PG members.
