The Centipede Demon is fully capable of one shotting me. Through my block with eagle shield and full stamina.

Demon Centipede when it stomps its feet, even when I have full health.
Pretty sure that isn't a single attack. Game considers it a combo.
Then again I've only ever been one shotted by Havel and I'm getting this information from Vegeta's videos and he's done SL1 run throughs and naked challenges and all that.

I just smash his friends with Grant.

Saddest part is I stomped the **** out if the 4 Kings first try totally solo, went to the ToG and got my *** beat repeatedly by the 'easier' Nito endlessly

But I agree, riposte just makes it a "wtf was that" sort of moment.
Not the good or funny type either.
I usually dont try to chain parry Gwyn, but doing a random parry during his combos adds to the epicness counter. Especially when you heal followed up by a lightning fast parry.
I just learn the trick when the blade almost hits you, you parry. Gonna have practice though.
Gwyn is the hardest for the first time. :|

Martys parrys after the second hit, not that he would recommend getting hit, but it helps.
But then again, Gwyn's using a greatsword, not a katana.

Same here, I also love when bosses leave you with 1HP

I find swords and axes are the easiest to parry, provided they dont stab.
It doesnt look like Gwyn's sword is a katana?

Re: Hardest boss
The range seems to become random for some reason. I dodge it by the size of the ring the shockwave makes and I'm fine. I dodge it again and I lose health.

Re: Hardest boss
Federally wrote:Serious_Much wrote:also damage limited to percentage health? I swear nothing is like that on Souls..
It's true for bosses and fall damage. This is why bosses don't one shot you, they may 2 shot you but not 1. This is why SL1 and naked runs are possible. Though non boss monsters don't have this limit so Npcs (Havel) and mini bosses (undead dragons) can one shot you.
So with bosses it doesnt matter if you have an epic long lifebar (vitality dump build) or just normal vitality. Because with the first a bigger part just vanishes with a hit? I didnt know that!
I thought that for instance a certain attack from a boss does 400 damage in NG, and you have 800 HP it halves your health bar when hit. But when u go to NG+ that same hit does 600 to 1000 damage. (1.5 to 2.5x more damage in ng+) Let's say in NG+ I have a health bar of 2500HP than that boss can't kill me anymore in 2 hits with that attack. Or am I missing something. ?

Re: Hardest boss
The damage of a boss is dependent on your SL, not HP. So if you're a SL 60 with 12 vitality, going against a boss will be much harder than SL 60 with 30 vitality.

Ceaseless discharge. Instead of jump and kill himself, he just spammed the freaking fire breath AoE that one shot most of the time. Ridiculous. In my first playthrough I think I died to him about 30 times

Hmmz. If I stay in NG+ but I level from 30 to 120 bosses do more damage in that NG+ cycle? I thought damage etc was stationary per cycle.

Re: Hardest boss
Hm....
Bridge Wyvern.
Even as a Mini-Boss, he puts all Bosses to Shame. Full front assault? Blarg. Little men can kill any Boss from Long Range. ANY Boss (except for the Witch of Izalith, but that isn't that hard to reach once you jump to the little root ramp... even the two flame roots that protect the witch can be killed from a safe range and distance). Even with Range, Drake seems to have ways to say NO! to you. Grr...
Some day...

I got him on my first playthrough, the jump and kill himself thing.
on my second playthrough though, he spammed that fire attack and
such (I wore BK armour +5 everything) and it took a little while to get him.
(Died many times )
The darl wood grain ring would have helped, i'm too heavy to run fast.

Re: Hardest boss
it's a tie between capra and four kings for me. honoroble mention goes to asylum demon, i know its optional but i really wanted to kill him to see if i got anything from it, it took me a couple of days and now the DGH is one of my favorite weapons in the game, too bad it sucks compared to the damage and weight of the GC but it doesnt stop me from using it all the time.

The gaping dragon actually gets me at the last minute. He never charges, and he jumps up and indefinitely lands on me. Ya know, that flying move where he doesnt just turn around, he tracks where you are running then lands on you, then he kills you as soon as you get up.Wade_Wilson wrote:Pinwheel, followed by the gaping dragon, followed by the Iron Golem.

I find staying at his back is the best way to kill The gaping dragon the fastest.
If in co-op, I or the other phantom distract The GD and it royally sucks when
he decides to regurgitate!
