As in the amount of damage you actually land. For me if it's 200 and above then it's good with me. I can win with just poison and large arrows if I felt the need to mess with someone.

It depends on what i have to do in order to damage them. Bows have a very low risk, so 200 damage isn´t that bad. On the other hand, strength weapons have high damage, but it´s easy to punish them. But buffs makes strength weapons look horrid.
If i use the dragon roar and break their guard, i can deal +700 damage with a halber/G halberd. I consider it -very- good damage.
EDIT: Why does it show the skype symbol?

If I'm hitting at least 100 with a rapier that's good for me. I want at least 300 with a Greatsword, and at least 200 with a kat or 2h Spear. I want at least 450 with a UGS 2h, and at least 250 with my Occult Halberd. The QFS does around 250 against armor 2h, I've even had it get 300 a hit on some lighter armored people, which is fantastic damage for its AR and speed. If you don't have poise that thing will chew you up. This is all at 120 and above, of course. Different numbers for fair PvP at lower levels apply.

I consider everything over 200 a really good hit (I mostly use Iaito).

Do katanas only do 200 damage on armor? Damn, they do almost 400 damage on me.

I feel you bro *naked brofist*. Actually if the opponent is wearing really good armor the dmg can be under 100 with my Iaito 1h.

With a +14 washing pole ant 40/40 I can get around 210-250 on a Giant's or Havel's bozo. Washing Pole is the strongest Katana at 40/40 aside from the Chaos Blade though.
Edit: That's 2h, the way I like to use kats.

Re: What do you consider 'good damage' ?
i'm comfortable doing anywhere within the range of 3-800 dmg for most weapons. Mostly I judge a weapons performance on their health meter though. Did it take a pretty good chunk out of their bar? If not, can I do better?I try to at least get 500+ ar on my weapons though. That's usually got my mind at ease when going into a fight.

Re: What do you consider 'good damage' ?
Lol, and here I expected everyone to say '400 isn't worth it'.
I think it's a bit overkill to want an extremely fast weapon to do 300, because that stacks up quickly.

Re: What do you consider 'good damage' ?
400 is actually amazing damage when it comes to the grant, its one of my favourite weapons In the game but it's kinda weak for PvP sometimes, there's no greater feel ing than killing people with the r2 2h though.

Re: What do you consider 'good damage' ?
If I'm not breaking 200, I'm not happy. To be fair, my favorite weapons atm generally hit for 400+ so 200 feels really weak compared to what I'm accustomed to.

Re: What do you consider 'good damage' ?
Depends;
For my weapons, I want ~400.
My Pyromancies better be doing alot more than that, though; as my build is based upon max damage with them. ~600.

Re: What do you consider 'good damage' ?
completely depends on what im using at the time. for the Estoc im happy doing around 120 - 130 unless buffed.
the way i rate it is. slower the hits, the more damage i want out of it.
then again i dont really experiment with alot of slower weapons outside the DSGB

Re: What do you consider 'good damage' ?
depends. if I'm off in the forest against unfair people I want to be doing 500 a hit with my slb falchion. in a fair fight I'm quite happy with 150

Re: What do you consider 'good damage' ?
I'm with Dragonbro on this one. I do actually have a requirement for my primary weapon to deal. I feel anything less than 500 AR or 600+split is just not worth using. I recognize the power and effectiveness of the Rapier and the Short Bow, which I have been loving greatly recently, and hit between 100-300. But those weapons pose much less risk than the Halberd does. I play very careful timing, trying to hit someone after a roll or an attack, so I want it to do a load of damage, hence why I hate spears. 700 isn't too high to see on a staggered opponent who doesn't block or roll with dragon roar and my Halberd hits. The whole increasing AR returns just makes me want to have at least 500 AR.

As long as I can DPS them very slowly, I'm fine.

Re: What do you consider 'good damage' ?
i always try to land my 1k+ damage combos. i'm usually happy with those.
but i don't really mind how much each individual hit is, what i like to do is do enough consecutive damage and tricks to get them to stop for a split second, back off and feel overwhelmed.
that's when you can crank it to 11 and do some more.

Re: What do you consider 'good damage' ?
Cloud the only dmg I consider 'good enough' is a PW, RTSR, dragon roar, with a SLB buffed great scythe 2 handed R2 :affraid:
