Did you realize, by the way, that Sif learned swordfighting from Artorias?
They share movesets, although Artorias has more moves.

Yeah, this scene just makes me feel worse for killing Sif. He's trying to stop us from entering the Abyss, in fear of us becoming like Artorias. Goo Controlled Knight of Death. He's such a lovely dog, and FROM is like: He's gotta die. -.-; Sigh.

Now that you mention it some of the moves are rather remeniscent although necessarily adjusted for sif's slightly different body type. although that suggests that abyss possessed artorias as he is in the DLC is not that different in battling style to the original main man himself.
He is hesitant to fight you because you saved him in the DLC. I'd imagine he regarded artorias as already dead as cirian did once he got abyss'ed
If anything you saved artorias from being a puppet. hence the friendly scene between you two there.

- He can fight alongside you against the manus suggesting he approves of you and kinda making you comerades. I wonder if he is compelled to fight all those getting the ring. like rather than choice someone like alvina is using him to ensure nobody who is too weak to use it obtains the ring.

Maybe she and he are working together to protect people from the Abyss, not against each other. She has hunters who protect Sif, and Sif protects the grave. This doesn't support Sif, who can see you beat the Abyss out of Ooacile (sp?), wanting to stop you. I tried howling at Sif, but he didn't respond

did alvina hate sif? I thought it was a bit of a mild dislike but nothing that extreme after all she has a bunch of hunters at her disposal if she had that much of a grudge.
Not to mention there is a big difference between disliking someone and condemning them to death by dark corruption. thats how I see it anyway.
Or alvina sees the wisdom in not getting mad at the guy who just killed the big bad wolf. valuable ally methinks.

Out of all of the new content, this is probably my favorite thing that was added to the game. That scene is absolutely amazing, I just can't describe how awesome this is.
