All of this is compounded by the stupid connection issues that seem to occur only for me. The arena in the DLC won't do squat, because the PvP is, and forever will be, inherently broken.

well over here I do most of my pvp in the forest and get lots of variation im talking about Darkroot Basin of course but ive seen alot of good duelist there

Nope, PS3. I would turn it into a drinking game where I would take a shot everytime someone invaded with family msk/flip ring/elemental weapon but I know I'd die of alcohol poisoning within the hour.

That's true, but trust me, they helped a lot in PtD, just keep a little faith and intelligence, and strength (lulz just faith) it gets better

I think PvP has taken a huge leap for the better with the new patch.
No flipping housewifes, no claymore stunlockers, no hornet fishers, no family masks on every player. Things are looking bright!

It won't. Now even the community is inherently broken. There's a perpetuating mindset that one must use the best equipment to win. I can't remember the last time I fought someone who played for fun.

the patches will greatly improve pvp, in my opinion. However, you can't take it so seriously. You can practice and get better, but its not going to be a super balanced game when it comes to pvp. It just can't be. If you wan't a game as balanced as a lot of us wish dark souls was, you need to be playing fighters.

PvP is meant to be taken seriously, it's the only part of the game left when you've played through the "story" mode enough times.

then you haven't hosted enough o-o I personally cosplay gwyn and have a great time, and if you stick to the kiln, forest (YEA I SAID FOREST) you meet fun *** people. Like the other night a guy invaded me and came rushing at me no bow, I dropped a prism stone, he paused and dropped one two, 10 minutes later we have turned the open area near Alvina into a GROSSLY INCANDECENT BATTLE GROUND!!! haha, but yea the dwgr gets nerfed in the dlc, so havel flippers will go down on console when we get that ^_^ and now im making an Artorias build for fun xD I personally find the burg the most corrupt horrible place in game.....move to the forest its way more fun and the kiln is a great 1v1 place

Gonna have to diagree 100% here with you on the DLC not doing anything about it. I have not seen one build that was the same as the other. The only thing that people did that was the same was turtling, which with the new magic (mad OP, Knight Alundil can attest for that) or dead angling is very easy to counter. These experiences were both in the arena and out in the vanilla game. That said, I think OP is butthurt.

Honestly, it's the people and not the equipment that at fault.
If people are using the cookie-cutter builds right now (Which ATM is flipping giants with elemental, or with a buff). Then what makes you think that they would stop with it just because the cooki-cutter builds become something else? Sure, we wont see any giants flipping around. But there will be a new cookie-cutter build, and everyone will use that instead.

Some people dont want to have to find their own niche and thats okay just get a working pre built build. it just means you will have the same weaknesses as everyone else using it

So it sounds like your Burg experience is about the same as mine....I fast roll with either 18 or 58 poise and don't use FAP ring.... at times I feel like I am the only one brave enough in the burg to go outside of the box and do that!!!
My best advice is to just duel friends that's what I do!!!

the DLC will fix all of your woes my friend.
Try fight clubs and organized events instead of the gank/housewife fest that is burg/forest.
We hold FCs on here often, and outlaw many of the cookie cutter cheap stuff. That is where its at.
