Well clearly, with Havel's Greatshield and a Spear along with quick stamina regeneration, how are you suppose to hurt me? That shield guards practically against all sources of damage and the little that gets through fuels the RTR.

The DSS, IMO, isn't optimal until you hit around 27STR/40dex/ and minimum 30 faith. If you're going for a high poise shield, I'd take Artorias Great shield... and for a spear, a Pike would fit this build better than the DSS.

You can be hit by deadangling, backstabbing, throwing dung pies, or by just chipping away with a bow.

Go with the stone shield, less stat requirements which you can out in vit. Imo artorias shield sucks for PvP, it doesn't even protect you against poison and the res are not that good.

There is no need for the Greatshield of Artorias AND 192 stamina. If I already have huge stability and stamina, I don't need it even more. The point of using Havel's is that it has near omni-defense as all forms of damage are chip damage, making it easier to trigger RTR more safely.

I have mid-roll because I have Havel's. Any powerful attack can be dodged with a well-timed roll of any kind. Havel also provides the infinite poise skill whereas Artorias does not. It is only right to take advantage of the 50 STR by adding in Dragonslayer Spear because it scales at C. It is also beneficial to increase the speed of WoG and the power of DSS simultaneously by adding the DEX.

WoG is for the backstabbing, and I can have Blooming Purple Moss in my quick-use.

I'll admit Stone Greatshield is a nice back-up, but I not having great defense in all forms hurts it. I'm pushing it with low VIT, I need a powerful shield.

Dude it has 80 in all of them iirc, and after 40 str it gets 1 point of ar for every sl which really sucks. Havels shields is awesome though and I like the special rock spell that it has, too bad it only lasts thirty secs.

Havel has 100/90/80/80. VERY important on the magic aspect because there are pure magic weapons. Stone has 100/80/75/65. No shield has 80 on all. I always say if you invest in a lot of STR, always aim for Havel's. It is just THAT good!
