I dont know how much quicker it is but I assume there is no disadvantage if you roll less.

I don't think they've changed it. And no, there is no disadvantage, because now almost everyone medium rolls because of the nerf to DWGR. I always PvP with low armor though. I prefer to be faster.
EDIT: Personally, I haven't noticed the change, but according to some info all rolls have been buffed (made faster).

Well, the reason I'm asking is I want to make an Artorias build. (I know every one and their mother is going to have one, but still.) I can't light role with his armor, sword and shield unless I have 94 end and Havel's ring. So I have to choose between being in the lvl 190 range and light rolling, or the 100 range and medium rolling.

I don't think they changed it, in my experience though, not many players medium roll, but also I have only seen 10 or so players.

http://tinyurl.com/c8bfaxy just add 1 pound to the sword since abys sword is 9 and that sword is 8 otherwise there u go thorn/knight stuff is same weight as art gear

I don't think they changed the animation at all. If anything, they added a few more "invincibility frames" but it's negligible. I played DaS on xbox and ps3 for over 1000 hours, and I medium rolled on a lot of low level builds....I can't tell the difference.

medium roles generally have less lines than the protaganist, but they are much more interesting characters in my opinion.
To be honest I still wouldn't think i'd ever take medium roll over fast roll, you're a sitting duck at the end of the animation so it's almost a liability.. i guess if you could get used to it perhaps, but I think the medium roll will always be vulnerable no matter if they add a couple more invincibility frames or make the animation faster.
