Playing while hollow is the only way. Or playing offline.
Only summoned phantoms can be banished.

As said, he'll still invade if you are offline. You just have to be in human form. You can also still summon NPc's while offline.

I wonder if you were the host in Catacombs I invaded numerous times who kept trying to black crystal me out of his world? lmao. I doubt it was you, but on occasion I will get a guy who as soon as he sees me, he uses the crystal, and I just
I even went as far as messaging a new player to inform him that the black crystal only works on friendlies and he still used it again after messaging me back!
Just when I thought I had seen it all.
To be on topic, you should fight the invaders. Humanity is easy to come by and even more so in DLC. It is good practice and if you plan on helping others in the future, it helps to have pvp skills when they get invaded

Just kidding but don't be worried about invaders they are a integral part of the game....enjoy the rush they give you when they invade....live or die you willl learn something!
Best way is to get some help from phantoms...us Darkwraiths love fighting 3 people it makes it a very sporting affair

Absolutely agree that invasions should be enjoyed. When I first started, I was crazy scurred too, and my first invasion experience was a high-level griefer, so I would play offline a lot. I'm totally the opposite now! I am always in human form. Invasions really shake things up. I even message invaders where I am if they can't find me. Hell, I've even met some great players that way.
The more you handle invaders, the better you'll get at it and the more enjoyable the game will be overall. Humanity is easy to farm in the Giants' Tomb and in the depths, so you're not losing much, even if you lose.
