by elvishlunatic Thu Jan 19, 2012 3:51 amI've been PvPing (if you can call it that) in the Forest the past few days, and twice I've found black phantom enemies in both sections of the Forest (Golems in the first half, Mushrooms in the second). The thing is, I've never gotten the "Disasters will go away..." message. Is it just a horrible connection? Does Dark Souls hate me? Answers would be greatly appreciated.

Well, hard to say since there is so much that is not known about the covenant. Have you turned off you console?
Those BP are gravelord related no doubt. There have been reports of people permagravelorded and I have also read that if you kill another gravelord the curse goes away.
Have you tried loooking for a gravelord sign?

My Kiln was cursed once, and stayed that way for 3 days, even after turnung off my PS3 and going to work. That dark black knight one shot me with his greatsword.

Yeah they are gravelords its exactly the same for me in the forest been like that a while, it just means the gravelord has done a good job on hiding his sign and no one has found him yet. Just aswell I have beaten the moonlight butterfly on this playthrough would of had a tough time fighting the 5 black phantom golems all at once

Perhaps the forest is bugged or something. I dont know if this is logical to happen but one time i had my sign on the ground and i got summoned as a black phantom, which resulted on me getting ganged by 3 players ?!

It only says that when the curse ends I believe. Otherwise it says nothing.

have to say i avoid forest PvP like the plague, nothing but gankings in there and I couldn't care less about trying to outplay them.
@OP only known reason for there to be black phantoms in a world is if it has been cursed by a gravelord.. thing is I dont know specifics on whether it goes away if gravelord quits game or anything like that..

@Serious. I go there and fight when I get bored of 2 or 3v1 when I invade -,-. I like to piss people off by bowing then dark handing people XD
