Confirmation of a very obscure reference Empty Confirmation of a very obscure reference

Alright, so I'm gonna start with providing a bit of context. To those of you who aren't aware of PPGD, you need to become aware of it. Mostly because it's awesome, but also because it contains the reference I need confirming. Typically, the creator has been very accurate in his connections, which is admirable considering the scope of the crossover universe he's made, but there was one thing he brought up that's been bugging me recently. Take a look at this page:

    Spoiler:

    Specifically, this line:

    Spoiler:

Did that ever really happen? I've looked around for a bit but nothing concrete ever came up, and even with the original show being a very nostalgic title from my childhood, I can't recall anything like that ever happenening. I realize they had alot of expies of comic book heroes in the original show's universe, but they were all of Marvel heroes, so unless the comic's author is confusing who Major Glory was a reference to, I don't think that would be the case for this situation to arise.

PS: Yes, I am a nerd.

The problem is, anytime he calls back to something the character has done prior to the series, it's usually accurate and something the character had actually done in their original show. I've been able to recognize and identify all references he's made up to that point, and he's been spot on for all multiple hundreds of pages so far, so it confuses me that all of a sudden he'd have a reference that I don't remember and can't find any evidence of.

That didn't happen. More than likely, that's an event that bleedman created for his comic's universe, such as megapolis,

and later on in the grim tales comic
