INT builds & DEX

Ok, i started a SL 100 INT build last night and planned on going 30DEX and 18INT(using the oolacile catalyst). I rarely make INT builds, and i was really starting to doubt the build. Does DEX even really play a huge roll in casting speed, cause it doesn't seem like it. I looked up a video on you tube, and it seems to effect the cool down more then the start up. Even then, unless you are just firing off soul arrow after soul arrow it doesn't seem important. So i ask all you veteran sorcerers out there, should i just stick with maybe 14dex(don't plan on buffing) and go nutts with INT. Here's a few alt builds i just came up with to see what i could do if i did not focus on DEX.

These builds just seemed a hell of a lot more powerful, despite not having dex.

YES YES YES..... no. Only the slow speed spells (WDB, Heavy Soul Arrow) get a significant boost from Dex.

If you just want your spells to rock, boost that INT sky-high. The DEX is nice but not needed, it's good to have but not if you are just going pure mage. It's good because with a good DEX stat you can buff your Iaitos/Great Scythes with CMW and the like and it is also a nice help to Velka's Rapier users.

Nice Builds! Although I did not even look at the sl 200 one, I mean, it's sl 200 lol everything is pretty much the same at that level.

You have probs seen the tube videos on dark magic. Dark Bead fires fast even at base dex so youre good there. Same goes for black flame. You have insanely good HP for sl 100 arena.

The armor combos look pretty boss too.

I guess your question is should you pump Dex to 45? I would have said yes had Obsidian/MLGSpear not been your weps of choice.

I think the builds are good to go. I would opt for the Spear user myself combined with those I frames. Swinging a greatsword with 8 poise is almost always a bad idea.

I would use the buckler instead of the dark hand too. Better shield all around and the End investment is nothing huge. Chip off Vit or Int and boom viable turtle,parry,blocking shield.

I agree lordgodhell, i think that is the one i'm going to go with. I was just thinking of how powerful that greatsword with CMW buff would be, but you're right about the poise. I have another build that will be using the BK weapons and the Obsidian anyways.Thanks guys. I think i actually have a new outlook on INT builds now, cause i was testing for myself while waiting for responses and the difference is minimal at best.



I can also switch DWGR for wolfs if someone is being overly agressive trying to stagger me, and have 54 poise. Sounds like a plan.
