SL 55 builds?

Was thinking of making a sl55 build mainly for invading as a darkwraith. Figured 55 pretty much lets you invade in nearly every stage of the game. Im assuming elemental would be the best build for this class. Thinking of going pyro puttign vit/end to 34 and making a min requirement lightning uchi/shotel build. Thoughts or input?

For most builds, elemental is the way to go. Unless, that is, you are going to sacrifice vitality or endurance.

been testing the build out lately with only a lightning uchi +3 and it is pretty serious. I may also make a chaos gargoyle halbred just to play around with.

Chaos G. Hal is a very good weapon, excellent for criticals, though it was nerfed somewhat in the patch.

making an str build at that sl is the easiest, it will be alot more powerful than all the other builds except for a pure int or faith. http://mmdks.com/hpa i know pw is kinda overkill but its so helpful when you up against three questers.

Faith build looks solid for a glass cannon build. The msgs build is also very solid but i just have grown away from the slowness of the swords. I used nothing but greatswords on my first toon and now i like the quicker melee weapons. I beleive the next weapons i will try are halbreds, just because ive never really played with them

btw at level 55 ive been farming for slabs via darkwraiths. still no drops.. :x anyways during my farming ive been invading and to my surprise you invade 9/10 in new londo at sl55. Usually people close to your level. Last night though i randonly beat a guy in full giants and got 216k souls. Messaged me to help him beat four kings and found out he was level 426. lol idk how i got thrown into a matchup that far off in levels.

The red orb invades up indefinitely. It looks for people at yu level, and if it can't find any, it searches higher and higher. Usually if it takes a long time after you use the orb, the guy will be higher level.

You said you wanted to try halberds, but they're not ideal for invading. I love them for duels, don't get me wrong, but they're defensive weapons, with length and medium speed they're meant to interrupt your opponents from a safe distance. However, a lot of new players won't fight like a duel. A lot of them will hide behind their shields and others will try to fish you out and generally do every thing to win. A halberd is the kind of weapon that makes you study your opponent and predict their actions. You want more aggressive weapons like curved swords and katanas for invading generally, as they force your opponent to react and loosen their defense.

I spend most of my time at sl55-60. Here is my current favorite sl55 build. It particularly excels in melee where a buffed 2-handed great club is complete overkill at this level. The AR is like 750 and given the typical hp ranges at sl55 you almost never need to hit anyone more than twice. But it can also stand off and trade spells or bolts with the annoying hyper-glass cannon DB mages with their dusk crowns and crystal catalysts and bellowing rings god I hate them so much.

I go elemental but i do have a Pure dex build that has really low HP but he uses bows and then Chaos blade if i have to get up close

current build looks like that. I have added in a chaos balder to swap with the uchi at times. When I swap for the balder I also use the crest shield instead of the heater shield.

Good vids billy, I personally never use katanas in japanese-designed games because I find them op. But if everyone is using them I guess it evens out, heh.

I have a love of katanas, i also have a love of the shotel lol, people are stupid and never realise whats going on

That is way too true. I bring out my shotel and R2 once. They still turtle. I do R2 once more. Still turtling. Then, I just take them out. If they can't take the hint that my weapon is completely bypassing their shields . . . . they pay the price (and most do).

I use the OIC and Bead / Orb(Sometimes I don't always bring the pyro) To try and trick people into thinking I'm maybe more of a gouged mage, I never never never swap to the club early, then when they're sick of me running away and I'm out or near out of spells to shoot rollR1 for the BAM.

When I saw another 16 int big *** stick 55 build It made me happy

billy - why don't you rock the crown of dusk? You have the weight available. Is it to keep the element of surprise? Or because in certain places (like anor), many people have magic?

i dont use pyro enough to warrant it, and tbh my firetempests do enough damage
