Strength build pvp

Are pure strength builds viable for pvp or am I just nerfing myself against hybrid and magic types?

Viable for sure. But, higher learning curve.

If your going for pure strength with no magic, you better get to know the Black Knight weapons, but yes they are perfectly viable. Like Reim said, higher learning curve is all.

This is my build that I'm going for. It's not my main pvp build, so excuse the 50 Str. 18 Dex for black knight weapons, 24 faith for GMB and vitality and endurance around 40. Will this build be ok or will it get curbstomped?

You'll do fine with that build. Plenty of vitality, ok stamina. Good AR. Good poise. Could it be better? Yes. Is is viable? Absolutely.

They are perfectly viable btu I would recommend having a composite bow or some pyromancies if you have the points

Also if you fast roll you can cause some fast, heavy damage

Is there any equivalent or near equivalent shield to havels greatshield? Was thinking that if there was a replacement then I wouldn't need to pump str to 50 and can leave it at 46 so I can distribute points elsewhere.

i would do this http://tinyurl.com/bas8ex6 but if youre gonna have 50 str you might as well use havel's shield, that thing is a freaking beast and you do not need any faith for magic barrier since the shield protects you for everything except poison and to defend against dead angles just keep walking backwards when they start trying to ddead angle. remember to switch the wolf ring to rtsr to save your ***.

Havel's shield is great, but watch out for WoTG spammers who turn their back to you before casting the miracle. When they do that, their WoTG damage goes right through your shield!

i hate that, so cheap. well i have 3 main pure srt builds and i do alright in the forest agains three people that aew usually all using magic against me or trying to bs me so the arena should be no problem.

The BKGA is still a decent weapon, even after it got nerfed.

There is a SL 100 build that makes decent use of it, and isn't a gimped VIT build.

A SL 100 quality build, make good use of STR and DEX weapons and those multi-scaling weapons like claymore, halberd, etc, or even a Murakumo.

to block the wotg dead angle... you just turn around too... and you actually can fatroll through wotg... there was a video somewhere of a guy doing this...

you cant fat roll through 9 consecutiive wog though and the turn around block thing doesnt always work(its hit me sometimes)

i have managed 6... but yeah more than that and theres trouble, hence why most of my str tanks use gmb or mb to lower the damage of wog...

Anyway, I created Vit/End build (50/62) with Str/Dex at 32/18 for BKH. I have three slots for some pyro fun (chaos fb and fire tempest). Gear wise I'm using havels and rofp for heavier set but still fast rolling.
What would be dmg comparing to my usual Dex/Int builds with Ricards +15 and CMW?

Planner, yes. Made build there before I did ingame. Using mobile so I described my build as cba to c/p :-)

So from what I'm gathering theres not much need to pump faith for the GMB if I go with the Havel shield? I'm thinking even with GMB, if 3 gankers pop up with like 9 WoGs each even GMB isn't going to help me survive that, and that isn't even a proper duel anyway.
