Who are these two people

In Anor Londo after the world turns black from killing Gwedolyn. When you back to the room in front of orstein and smog who are those two people. One is a knight holding a great shield and the other is a woman with a bow I think. But they both can do damage pretty quick if your not careful. I always found it old that they aren't phantoms and are not hollows either

I got the impression that they're a couple of darkmoon blades who are attacking you because you sinned so severely. Another theory of mine is that they were playing the parts of the illusory guardians who were there before you killed Gwynevere, like in order to create such powerful illusions Gwyndolin required real people to draw power from. In which case they'd probably still be darkmoons

Well I'm just speculating based on everything else that's associated with that area. I don't think the game ever even mentions them directly aside from them just being there. All the equipment they use is already associated with other things as far as lore goes, so they're really open for whatever speculation might fit.

I would have to agree with plastic, the are probably darkmoons given the fact that you are invaded by DMs in dark anor londo, they are the DMs who are stationed in anor londo and you are invaded by support DMs. They are to Anor Londo what the Darkwraiths are to New Londo

Well I was just curious about the two people because at no other point in the game due you see characters defend a certain location. I mean their are other NPC's but they are mainly at firelink and they want to help more times than not

The only other time i can think of now is in sens when you fight richard.

Well the forest guardians guard the Darkroot forest, but if you're also a forest guardian they become neutral. It'd be interesting to test if those two NPC's in AL attack you if you come near them as a DM Blade with your sin of betraying the covenant forgiven. Although I'm not entirely sure that that's possible. Anybody have any insight on that one? If you only have to kill Gwynevere to darken AL than I'd think it could be done because you could just go pay for your sins, then go rejoin the covenant, but if you have to kill both her and Gwyndolin than it would be impossible to test.

Well when I found out about it I was in the dark moon blade. And I got summoned by the ring. And I was just walking around looking for the guy and I went inside I guess the temple and say the two people just sitting there. And I was prepared for a fight but they were still standing there. And I know the guy has a big great shield and I thought it was the merchant from sens fortress. Wait I want to go look at that before i say its for sure him

He has the same armor yes but i dont think its the merchant.

Well the first time thats exactly who I thought it was the merchant.. But I dont want to make the claim without any evidence

It might be you never know, I see no reason why the sens merchant could not also be a Noble Darkmoon blade, spanking customers who want to rip him, off. Hes a bad dude too he has killed me more than once when i was cleaning up for ng+.

Yeah he is no joke with that great sword.

It isn't the merchant, He does seem to be a berenike knight or from berenike, and the other is from carim it seems, I don't think it really matters I just found it a bit odd... Maybe Carim is in Anor Londo/ Very close?

What I want to know is who are the 2 with Lautrec when they Gank you. And ganking is built into the game imo, that little scenario with Lautrec is meant for people who can only play off line, it lets them get a taste of the games invasion mechanic and it drops you into a gank fest. Sorry to go off topic but that has been bugging me.

If you invaded as a Darkmoon they would just be standing there even if they were just normal enemies. Like when you invade any world as a phantom of any color the enemies in that world won't attack you because you're essentially on the same side, trying to kill the host. What I'm wondering is if you go to Anor Londo, kill Gwynevere to create Dark Anor Londo, and spawn the two knights, then go see Oswald and pay to have your sins forgiven, then return to Dark Anor Londo and visit Gwyndolin to become a Darkmoon Blade, then go into that room as a human non-phantom Darkmoon Blade, if those two would attack you. If they don't then I'd say it's pretty definitive that they're DM Blades. The issue is I'm not sure if it's possible to do that, because I don't know if you can create Dark Anor Londo with Gwyndolin alive. Meaning you might have to kill the NPC necessary to join the covenant in order to get the two other NPC's to spawn at all. Know what I mean?

i think all you have to do is kill gwyneveere to make anor londo dark, its like 1 arrow. You could warp to the parish as a DM and absolve youe sin and the warp back. And as long as you dont kill the fire keeper who will want to kill you no matter what, you can warp to her bonfire. She is very aggressive so its hard to keep her alive.

^ I'm pretty sure you get kicked out of the DM covenant for killing Gwynevere. So I think you'd have to absolve yourself then try to come back and rejoin. I think I may try all this for just for **** and giggles.

Yea that sounds right. Its a question of joining the covenent with anor dark. Hmmm that does sound interesting.

Run to the bonfire, warp to the Undead Parish, run across the roof where you fought the Gargoyles, talk to Oswald, absolve your sins, then try to go back. Check your status to see if you're still a Darkmoon or if you've been kicked out. If you've been kicked out run down to Gwyndolin's door and see if you can rejoin. If you're still a DM go near those NPC's and see if they attack you.
