Rynn has still been silver and I notice she was able to connect with other players. Mainly PVP. Reason why I know this because she started a thread on how the dlc and patch changed the gameplay of PvP.

Wait, you can't get all the online perks with just a Silver subscription? I mean, I conenct to other players just fine, be it for co-op or PVP. It's not even hard to find and summon specific people. I am actually considered a helpful player to X-box customer support, and so I can access X-box live even as a silver member due to special priveledges i've been granted.
I know that certain promotions, such as two week x-box codes allow live access despite being silver, but generally a silver player can -not- access the online features of dark souls.

Ah, maybe the Silver limitations only apply to Xbox 360 players? GFWL is used on the PC version as well, but none of the free membership limitations described seems to apply there.

The X-box version faithfully kicked me offline every single time i was silver.

Weird. I just faced a silver member on dark souls though. Surely it's not coincidence that he expired after the fight.

You know X-box has been giving away those silvers like candy, right?
I begged about 4 years worth of codes off my friends. If x-box ever cuts me off my privilege of being a "valued community member" I'm still smooth to play silver for 4 more years. Perhaps it's simply because i've worked the system myself that i don't find it hard to imagine others are too.

I was actually able to access the online content of Dark Souls for about a week of being Silver. After that, the system caught onto me and I needed to renew my Gold subscription to access the online capabilities once again.
