My Dark Souls on PC now looks AMAZING. I toyed with the NVidia Control Panel and now my game runs at 43fps. Needless to say, I jizzed.
But.. that wont get me banned will it? I mean i still have the same speed i used to, just looks so much more amazing!!

...I'm sure you'll find trouble if you keep boasting about tampering with the game like that.

Well i think the FPS is what can get you in trouble. I'm not sure though. Honestly that is why i don't like to play online games on PC, although PC obviously has much better visuals.

Why should you be worried about FPS?

THat's just the how many times a second you screen is painted, it doesn't speed up any action. Is it against the ToS to increase the FPS...???

    Doesn't make sense to me.

i don't see why you guys are being so negative, its not like he tampered with the game itself. he just adjusted his video card some. how exactly could from get him in trouble for that?

People have told the ghost story of being banned for unlocking FPS, but I really, really doubt it happens. Anyways, remember the game is supposed to be run at 30 FPS, so going over that may bring bugs.

    Be afraid, be very afraid!

Lol, no. Seriously, you should be fine. You only made your game go a bit faster, I don't see the harm in that.

Well the game itself doesnt run any faster than ut should, it just has no lag spikes (not even in blighttown!!), i can actually see the lava from my chaos pyromancies now, and the game looks like its being played on one of those supersharp super expensive flatscreens.

Very unlikey. Players have, very publicly, live streamed or recorded themselves using trainers to cheat. Sometimes doing pretty bad things to others' games, including things like forcing co-op and then killing NPCs, blacksmiths, and bosses when it's normally impossible.

If you look up the sinners in the book of the guilty on PC, nearly all of the top entries are blatant cheaters with impossible stats. Some have even directly altered the level of sin itself. People report these players all the time, and there is solid evidence of it, and it appears that action is never taken against them.

Altering your framerate is harmless, and probably has more negative effects for the player in terms of PvE (not being able to jump as far, falling through floors after sliding down long ladders are a few examples).
